Make sure it is full of coolant if it is check ur hoses goin into heater core they r notorious for the heater core stopping up, if both hoses are hot you have a blend door actuator problem let me know what u find oh yeah if the heater core is stopped up ive found that takin one hose off and usin a steam pressure washer u can get most of that **** out

If defrost is on that means AC cycles to remove humidity. Does this also occur when ac is running set at very near outside temp so it cycles? Could be the throttle positioning sensor (TPS) acting up.

I would suspect the solenoid plunger is sticking due to some rust, dirt, moisture, or congealed oil. Remove the starter and clean the solenoid contacts, the spring, and the plunger with electrical contact cleaner. If this doesn't help, replace the starter/solenoid assembly.

Cannot get heat out of floor vents -only defrost and dash heat
i had a simmiler problem on my 95 chevy pick up. on mine it would not chg. from floor to defrost, no matter where i put the selector. with mine it was the controls. if you go under solutions for k1500chevy gmc trucks it should tell you what your problem is, or give you an idea whats going on with yours.
