I have 1997 ford windstar 3.0,there is no problem if 2 person inside the car ,but if 1 more person sit on back, a few minutes later backside of the car going down and starts jumping (compressor doesnt start)and and check air suspension light comes on. When i stop and turn the engine off and start again, compressor starts to work.Is there any problem about the height sensor ??
You may have more of a problem than you know. Often times there are small leaks in the air bags that cause your vehicle to go down.If your compressor is turning off and on over and over again, it sounds like its going to burn out. May I suggest that you check into conversion kits from Strutmasters. They have great alternatives to these air ride problems. By converting your car to a non air passive system you are eliminating all the headache and saving money and time.
Yes, you may be able to find an Autozone or Oreilys with a scanner for the suspension system. It can easily be a height sensor, but to know if it is a bad connection or only the sensor takes testing equipment.
You could be Okay at the back end and the equalizing system to the compressor is failing to update. Unless you are familiar with the voltage the system uses, you may fry something with 12 volts.
