Hi:
The water pump is located underneath the timing belt cover, on the drivers side of the engine. To swap the water pump, you need to remove the timing belt cover, timing belt, and the timing belt tensioner. I usually tell people that this can be done in a day, but sometimes not ! Also, all of the other drive belts , such as Air conditioning and the alternator belt all need removed too.

How do i change a water pump on my 1994 honda civic ex coupe 1.6l engine?

Stop leaks rarely works and are often a waste of money. Before going after the water pump, make sure it is that, that is leaking. Many of the smaller engines have the water pump in line with the timing belt, meaning both will need to be changed.

use a stick and wiggle the mounts on all accessories.
not running. P/S pump, A/C compressor , Alternator, fix the loose ones.
you can run the engine dead cold with accessories belts off.
