Instrument panel lighting has stopped working.

I would remove the cluster and check the wiring for shorts to the fuse box.

on my 2003 they are in three separate places....two are in engine compartment area...the third is behind a panel or passenger side...next to the glove compartment where the air vent is located (air vent to the door) i suspect the instrument panel fuses are in the engine compartment area....hope that helps

sounds like your instrument cluster is not going to sleep have seen this problem it will also drain your battery if you don't drive the car everyday

I had the same problem with a car i owned and found out it was a short in the wireing in the dash, you will have too have it re-wired, but too be certain you should have it checked out by a mechanic in your city.........

You will need to pull out the instrument cluster and replace the bad bulb. 

grab both sides of cluster and just pull unit towards you. Nothing holds it in but 4 clips and 4 rubber grommets. Just dont yank too hard or youll pull wires off the back.

could be a short in the wiring or you could need a new head lite switch.
