Water leakage in driver's footwell

Hi there, My Touareg 2009 with A/C I found that the carpet under my feet is wet and there is some water lakage coming from the right side of the driver's foot well near the petrol pedal. The water is hot and clean no specific smell. Is it a serious problem or not?
Thanks

My wife had a similar problem in her 04, Check the bottom of front window on driver and passenger side, the plastic grill where the wipers are have a seal where it meets the window , if not properly set against window it allows water ,condensation.. to enter and collect under dash. also some electrical modules and components, also some connecters are exposed to weather. p.s. the adjustment is cammed to apply sufficient force to the window, be sure to examine the mechanism to get a tight seal.

Water leaking from under drivers foot well on vw touran any idea

If it is inside the car in one footwell it will be one of three things. It will be either a leaking pipe to the rear windscreen washer jet, a worn door seal rubber or the heater matrix behind the dashboard.
Get into that footwell and using the back of your hand start at the floor and feel the carpet for wetness. Work your way up the carpet towards the underside of the dashboard. Your looking for the point where the carpet goes dry. Try this near the centre of the car and nearest the door. Floor only suggests washer pipe. Wet around the door is possibly a door rubber and high under the dash is most likely the heater matrix. This may seem an odd question but does the wetness have a smell? A rotten egg smell suggests screenwash. A sweet smell could be coolant.

My car,Suzuki Alto Auto SZ4, O9 reg purchased new from Suzuki approved dealer. Have trouble with no wash supply to rear window. Also carpet under drivers feet on the sill side very wet. Car taken to dealer...

The pipe has come off its connection, push the drivers seat fully back and kneel on the ground beside the seat. Stick you head in the footwell as far as you can and look to the right (drivers side) past the back of the fusebox. You'll see a few inches of clear plastic pipe protruding from under the carpet which connects to a nipple mounted on the inner side panel of the car via a right angled black rubber pipe. On mine the right angled pipe had come off the nipple. Push it back on and all is well until it freezes again. Cable tie is one answer.

Find the drain under the car for the ac condensation, and clean it out with air pressure. It will be directly below where the ac lines go into the car.

Water in the footwell

Check under the hood on the firewall on the driver's side. There are body grommets which sometime crack, fall out, or are damaged by stereo installers, trailer brake controller installation, or CB/shortwave radio installers. Also, if you smell antifreeze, it is a coolant leak. If you smell mildew, it is rainwater entering the cabin. Your windshield could be leaking.
And the worst, and incurable: a body seam weld could have broken.

Seat Alhambra 1996 1.9L water leak drivers footwell

the water can travel along surfaces or beams in the car so you cannot tell where it is actually leaking. in my ford windstar water leaked in right over the fuse box. it ran along a cross beam from the passenger side. if it has those plastic strips they use to go in between small gaps in the metal... like along the roof where the roof is and the metal of the sides joins it is likely they are leaking. best to take a garden hose and have someone inside the car with a flashlight on the floor looking for leaks

During heavy rain water flows over my feet! Where does it come from??

most vehicle have a rubber drain plugs on driver and passenger side under the carpet. keep in mind you don't want to get lots of water under your seat because the computer mod sit right under the seat, if it gets wet it will cost you big buck to replace. good way to check it, next time when you get the next oil change or get the car up in the air, ask the mechanic to look at the rubber drain plugs at the bottom of your car and see if it still there and in good condition. pulling and lifting the carpet its not good idea and lots of work. If the the floor drain plugs looks good then check sunroof if you have one, check the seal around the roof making sure its has a good seal; it may not have a good drain. The last resort will be the fresh air duct from outside in front of the car next to front windshield, which is leaking through the unit. good way to also check the problems is take the vehicle to the car wash using high pressure water gun and spray in it fresh air duct for minute or two and see if its leaking through. hope that help some good luck
