My 2005 Accent is skipping. When it gets bad I get a code for a miss fire on Number one. Already replaced the plugs. Checked the spark at the coil by pulling the wire off and holding close to it. Seemed to be fine. Steady.Has 86000, having timing belt changed on Monday. Will that Help? I doubt it.

I filmed this right after changing my old plugs, I figured it was easy enough to film and some people can profit from it. for a ... Coil, you mean wire lol ... When you go to put the spark plug back in, never start it with the ratchet.

Causes for a cylinder misfire include. Bad spark plug, bad spark plug wire, bad coil ( or coil pack) if no wires, Bad fuel injector..I would start in the order I listed.
hi the engine is not skipping the problem is the engine is miss firing that is caused by a bad .spark plug or -wires-or coil pack - when was the last time the car had a tune up . check spark plug connections
You still have random misfires (PO300)
You most likely replaced those coils that set a code, and those were not the one bad offender, spiking the computer module.
Take a new coil and put in a cylinder,no change, replace old coil and move new one to next cylinder. You can do that once or twice a day, if you have nothing else to do. You need a 90 degree day, to really get that solved, unless you have an ignition oscilloscope.
Never had a bad spark plug in 45 years.
the trouble code number for a #2 missfire is po302 which is usually caused by bad spark plugs and or plug wires so i would recommend doing a tune up and clear the code and it should be fixed worse case if plugs and wires don't fix it, which it more than likely will, you may have a bad ignition coil
next step is to check if the fuel injector is operating correctly. Also make sure that the spark plug is firing, dont assume it is firing because you replaced the plug and coil, verify that its working.
It could be bad coils. That can be checked by running the vehicle with one of the spark plugs unplugged at a time. Shut it off before trying to remove the plug or you may get a nasty shock from any working coil. Good luck!
Number three cylinder is miss fire,it does not mean it is the coil, although it could be,remove the coil, and boot, and spark plug, inspect them to see if the plug,or boot look bad, replace the spark plug, and if the boot is burned or distorted, replace it,a fuel injector can cause a miss fire also, but change the spark plug and see if this solves the problem,if not replace the coil,if it is a dead miss, then the coil might be bad,as for the water in the fuel ,the cap is missing,,and 5 dollars worth of HEET will not hurt, also, fuel from the fuel station, can have water in it.It happens a lot.
possible bad coil...try swapping the #1 coil with another cylinder and see if the missfire follows that #1 coil. Replace if defective. Hopefully this helps
