The charging system warning and brake warning are both on at the same time

Your anti-lock brake system is a stand alone system that does a self check every time the key is turned to the ON position. If the system is registering an error, you need to have it scanned to determine what error it is seeing.

Take it back to Toyota, along with the invoice for the last repair, and tell them to fix it this time.

For some reason, some import models tie the two warning lights together.
The problem could be low brake fluid, or the parking brake is on, or the alternator is not charging the battery among other things.

abs is the ant block brakes system. it helps by preventing you from blocking your wheels when you jump on the brakes.(blocked wheels dont steer. they go straight regardless of steering wheel input from you). the warning light warns you that there is a problem with this system. usually a wheel sensor is broken ( there is one on each wheel). the brakes will still work. but you do not have the abs systems help

check alternator out put should have 13.5 - 14.5 volts at battery with engine running.if not alernator voltage regulator faulty.any time you see brake light and charging light flashing alternator not putting out enough power to work the antilock brake system.

For some reason the brake warning light and battery light are connected, so either system could be having problems.
The battery warning light could mean the battery is not being charged, and the brake warning light could mean you are low on brake fluid.
I would start with the check engine light and see what the codes are.

Hello, These warning lights are pretty accurate. Autozone, Advance, and Oreillys give free scans although the engine system and brake system can require different scanners.

Check your brake fluid level first. The ABS system requires sensors which require counting the revolutions of each wheel. Sometimes the sensors may break, but they can be blinded by dust and debris.

If you have a broken brake pad, the warning light can come on. Often the Emergency brake pad, inside the rear Rotor, can fall apart and trigger an ABS warning.

You need to inspect both the front and rear brakes or take your car to a brake shop for evaluation. Sometimes you can get a free estimate, and some shops can charge for inspecting the Emergency brakes because of the work needed to reach them.

depending on the system if it is 2 channel or 4 channel one of the sensors that are located on the backing plate located behind calipers is eithier faulty or dirty you can try brake cleaner these sensors use a small magnet pickup device to sense when the wheel "locks up"
