My car has been on the diagnostic machine 3 times and it has undocumented code 04122 nobody knows what it refers to. I have a Renault clio dynmique 51 reg. MY engine electronics light comes on all the time and when i come to a stop or slow down and will cut out unless i keep reving my car, the light will go off after reving for about 10 secs at 2500 revs but its eating petrol and the 2 garages dont know anything to tell me apart from the cost of it going on the diagnostic machine. Help pls.

two brake shoes with a auto adjuster at the top ,handbrake lever on right shoe and two return springs .if you cant remember take the other side off and look at that

im afraid to say that yor piston rings are worn and will need a engine rebuild , you could try and put a thicker oil in 15w40 or 20w40 if you can source it . hope this helps

If the timing belt has snapped then you will have caused major internal engine damage. Its not just a case of replacing the belt as its likely the pistons will have made contact with the valves and bent them in the process. You will need a qoute from a garage for the repair and potentially you are looking in excess of £1000. The only alternative to this is to source a suitable engine for exchange from a breakers.

the cambelt timing marks for clio 1.4 are = the crankshaft cog alignes withmark at 6 o/clock position at TDC No 1 cyl and the cam cog alignes with mark on cyl head at rear of cog at 12 o/clock position belt is fitted anti clockwise from crank then w/pump and then cam cog hope this helps ?
