2001 gmc sonoma while operating the vehicle, the dash warning lights come on, the radio shuts off as does the blower motor for the vents. The truck runs fine during this. Then everything comes back on in a few seconds or maybe up to a minute.

both aftermarket installs are powered by the battery, 1-100watt siren box and a 400 megahertz fireband radio

ive been looking and wiggling with no luck

    hey, i found it

main fuse block secured to the inside of the drivers side fender. i was shoving down on the 4 big fuses and radio, blower quit.

found out that underneath the block where the wires come into the fuse block the connection was loose

i spread the 2 connections, slipped on the plastic connector and it wont move at all.

    tks

Sounds like a bad or lose wire. you will need to do a "wiggle" test as commonly reffered to in the automotive repair industry. as with everything on you will need to wiggle harness's that are suspected of fault. and that is were the experince comes in. no it would be impossible for me to help there. but if i was you i would check all the fuses first for tight and proper connection. then go on to the wiring for the radio and blower motor. where they should be in the same loom that runs the lenth of the dash board. from right to left. driver to passangers. once you have located the harness with the fault you will need to open it up and inspect for damaged wires. this is not a common thing for this car so there is no place i could tell you i have had problems before. but i can say is to look over any after market equipment that has been installed like a alarm/remote statrter and or radio. these are a common cause for electrical fault's in my experince. let me know if you have any more questions or anything to add.

How do I replace the blower switch in the dash without breaking up the dash

Are you sure that you need a blower switch? There are other items that are prone to going out before the switch like the resistor or the motor, but if it is the switch you first remove the large piece of trim that surrounds the radio, heater controls, and instrument cluster. This will reveal the screws that hold the heater control head into the dash.

Air and heat blower will not come on. 1998 sonoma 2.2l

start by checking fuse. if fuse is good, aquire a test light, check the test light on the battery to make sure the test light works. Power to ground = light. access blower motor under pass-side dash panel.(probablly have to remove underdash cover, secured with pop-in style fasteners.) locate blower motor. 2 wires w/connector Purple-power, black-ground. check for power at purple w/test light on known good ground, with ign on, and blower switch on high. if it has power, hook clip of test light to a power source, ( + on battery w a jumper wire) and probe black wire, with test light. if no light, jumper that wire to a good ground. if it lights, you have a bad b-motor. if no light on power side of blower motor, and fuse is good, check power to swith. blower circuit may have 2 fuses. 1 for high and a 2nd for the lower speeds. if switch has power to it, and power is transfered to another wire when switched, suspect the blower motor resistor. What would cause electrical components to malfunction in 2001 toyota echo

All of those components are probably on the same circuit. I would guess that there is a short or bad ground connection somewhere. If there is an aftermarket radio, fuzzbuster, or other accesory that was tied in, it could be that's the problem.

1995 GMC Sonoma - blower motor works intermittently. Switch works fine. When switched to high, it might take a few minutes for blower to actually come on.

There is a relay under the dash on the passenger side that operates the fan. You can bump the dash on the under side passenger side. And the fan should come on. If so the relay needs replaced.

Blower motor does not operate right

This could also be a loose/poor connection from the control unit. I have had a similar issue. I know it is not thermal overload because sometimes the blower just doesn't come on when you start the car. A slap to the top of the dash board over the temperatures controls has got it going again.
