The side view mirrors were stolen from both sides of my 2006 Dodge Caravan SXT. Is it difficult to replace them myself or should I have the dealer do it?

U will have to take the inside door cover off and manualy open it. And replace the electric door locking switch. Very common problem. Get the new lock and latch assembly from dealer,
It's not that hard to replace the passenger side mirror. You will be able to do it yourself. I will tell you how. Remove the screw holding the molding to the base of the mirror and remove the molding. Remove the screws and detach the mirror. (if it is electric mirror just unplug the electrical connector. Installation is the reverse of removal. Hope this will help you.
the plug is inside of the mirror housing once you take the old mirror out if you need to plug it after the housing and you replaced the whole mirror the plug is inside the door panel
if you open the door you can pop off 2 pieces of plastic that reveal 3 bolts. 3/16 (i think)socket works and you will need an extender. but it is literally 3 bolts and that is it. i bought the part from a dealer and it was $40 and they wanted $90 for install. took me 15 min.
no you can buy either heated or non hated mirrors and be ok either way. once you put the new one in place you will need to make sure you hook the controls up so you can control it from the dash
You will need to remove the triangular panel on the inside of the door on the opposite side of the broken mirror. Once you remove the panel, you will see the retaining bolts holding the mirror in place. Once you remove the bolts, the mirror can then be pulled out from the outside. Reverse the procedure to reinstall the new mirror.
