My battery continues to go dead after replacing it with a new one just 2 months ago. The system check at the dealer ship says that everything is fine but the car will sit over night and not start in the morning.

Either the dealer was wrong or there is a light remainig on due to a bad switch such as in the glove box or trunk or underhood.

With car off take a multimeter and check what fuses are drawing and how much. That will help you hunt down the power drain. Usually aftermarket stereos and alarms cause these issues.

Intermittently my 2009 kia optima will not start

I'm pretty sure that the charging system was checked by now & they should have checked it for an electrical short & the ignition system should have been checked. It may be an electrical short in the ignition system, bad/ erratic starter or relay. I advise u to get in touch w the dealer & inform them the problem is still happening & see what they have to say, or get a auto tech to check it & get a warrantee w the work. The dealer should be standing behind their work already. Good Luck. CALL BACK THAT DEALER, U PAID THEM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ALREADY. Ive dealt w consumers for 21 years & auto repair.

Have something draining my car battery. I have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville, and I have to get a new battery about every 18 months. I had a new alternator put in, new not used, about 20 months ago. I replaced...

If you have a drain on your battery , it would not take 18 months for the battery to go dead . What do you mean The battery gauge in the dash shows only about 1/2 power, When ? When the vehicle is running ? Not charging ! The battery gauge as you call it has nothing to do with the Battery . That's showing how much the charging system is putting .The volt's indicator is controlled by the PCM - engine computer . With the engine running should show 14.1 volts .if your only seeing 7 the charging system isn't working. The alternator is controlled by the PCM as well ! Have it check by a GM dealer .

Hello i have a 2004 expedition , and i have been having issues with my battery draining. about a month and a half ago i went away vacation , came home to start my truck only to relize my battery was dead....

Your solution is a little hard to find too bad they told you to change the alternator. It is a simple fuse you need to change that is blown. on the expetion sometimes there are two one in the fuse box and one under a black cover follow the alternator small wires it should point to the direction of the small i believe 7.5 amp fuse. it was hard to find and i do this for a living. good searching.

I have a 2005 KIA Sorento with a Battery problem. The Battery dies & has a dead short after a few months. The auto was purchased NEW with a GPS tracking system installed a dealer from Southwest...

If an ammeter is connected between the negative cable and the negative terminal of the battery with the negative cable end disconnected to do so, then the amp draw should be less than .2 Amps.

If the ammeter is the inductive type that has a probe that goes around the negative battery cable, while the negative battery cable is connected, and the positive is connected, the draw should also be less than .2 Amps.

If the draw is .8 Amps, for example, then that's too high and can cause a dead battery in a few months.

Good luck on this repair.

2008 Jeep Liberty-Dead battery issues w/ a new battery

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.
