It sounds like something got in the way of the latch when you closed it after putting your stuff in there. Take a screw driver and while gently prying on the door turn the latch at the same time. Once it opens and there wasn't anything jamming it then WD 40 time. Let me know how it turns out. Raz

Glove box wont latch

If the glove box was closed wrong than the latch that keeps the glove box shut will close on itself. If you take a pen or a screwdriver and put little pressure on it and try the handle again it should open. if thats not the case than replace the handle, the locking mechanism with in the handle or the spring broke or came apart.

HOW TO CHANGE THE IN CABIN FILTER ON A CHRYSLER 200

All of the older answers are incorrect. Open the glove box. Remove everything from the glove box and set it aside. On the right and left sides of the glove box, there are some rubber stoppers. Simply push inward on the sides of the glove box toward the center so that you can open the glove box beyond the point where the rubber stoppers stop it.

After opening the glove box all the way (past the rubber stoppers) look inside, just above the blower unit. There are arrows on the left and right end of a rectangular black cover. Push the release tabs which the arrows point to, and remove the cover. Pull the filter out.

Install the new filter, and put the cover back in place by snapping it on as you found it. Push the sides of the glove box toward the center, and close the glove box. Open it as you normally would, and put your stuff back in the glove box.

2005 slk350 glove box is locked. how do you open it.

This is a common problem with these cars, the glove box has a solenoid that locks and unlocks it, this is the problem, you will need to lock and unlock the doors with the door button not fob, you will need to do this several times until the glove box unlocks.

This sounds like yours is on the way out but if you lock and unlock a few times you should be able to get it to unlock, you may have to do this a few times, i know its time consuming but the lock will unlock.

When you get the glove box open, there are two reasons for this problem, first it may just need a little wd40 sprayed on the latch and arm, or the solenoid is bad.

The way to figure this out is with the box open spray solenoid arm and latch and then hit the lock and unlock a few times as you watch to see it move, again you may need to hit lock and unlock a few time to get it moving, once moving you will see the movement and then spray a little more, If the WD40 works then the latch will move with door locks but if you still get get the latch to move then you will need to replace the solenoid.
The last thing may be a relay, there is a relay that controls the latch but most times its latch or wd40 being the problem.

There are TSB"s on this problem and if you bought this car from the dealer i would see if they would repair it at no cost to you, its worth a try.

20001 SLK 320 hardtop stopped

It could be an in-line fuse, which you would need to search for, out with the fuse box. Follow the wiring as it enters the driver area, then along to towards the motor for the roof.

Does the 2001 mercedes slk 320 have a fresh air filter and it's location?

Most likely if you have one it will be behind glove box.
You'll have to remove glove box and you'll see it.
Another way to check if you have ACC CABIN filter is to go to parts store and ask them to check by application.
Hope it helps.

Need to figure out how to put the compartment that

Are you talking glove compartment? I don't know about an 05 but some earlier models all you have to do is flex the sides in and let glove box falls open. Then it will come right off if my memory serves me correct.

How does glove box come off to replace air cabin filter ?

First, take a good look at what you’re doing.
Look on the right side of open glove box and locate a plastic lever. You will see grooves on the end connected to the glove box. The grooved area is the spot to place the thumb in order to press this lever off the glove box when it comes time to do that.
Look up under the glove box. You will see two brass colored screws one on each side of the bottom of the glove box. These screws go up through two square plastic hinges that are attached to the glove box and into the the dash frame.
Okay, with the glove box closed remove the two brass colored screws, and put them aside so you won’t lose them..
Open the glove box and hold the glove box with your left hand and press on the plastic lever (grooved area) located on the right side of the glove box. This lever (the lever already mentioned above) is slotted and will pop off the glove box.
Put the glove box carefully aside.
Look straight in behind the glove box. You will see a rectangular black plastic cover approximately 1.5 inches wide by 8 inches long. On the right and left side are arrows pointing in. Press the arrows and pull out on the cover. This will slide out the tray that holds the filter. Remove old filter and insert the new one, flow arrows pointing down.
Retrieve glove box, hold in place, and attach plastic plastic lever to the right side of the glove box. The reverse of removal.
Next, the two plastic hinges located on the bottom of the glove box fit underneath the dash frame.
While holding the glove box in place (the glove box latch may hold glove box in place while installing screws) re-install the two screws through the plastic hinges into the frame and tighten.
Hope this helps you.
