    No - its like getting into Fort Knox tho --- have to crawl in through the back tailgate as of now -- cant open from getting inside either at this time ---

    If you have a remote door opener, try jumping the starter main battery terminal to a good battery (attach neg to the chassis) If the battery is dead, the solenoids may not be working...that should power them up and at least one should open..

Are they electric door locks? If so the battery might be dead.

Manual locks.....Maybe try and spray some lubricant in the lock cylinders, and work the key.

Then I step away and slam the door, 'bump',,, I look back, the door did not click shut, again I slam the door 'bump'..it does not click shut. Bump Bump Bump...I try to shut it...then I reach in and push the lock/unlock button , lock/unlock...lock/unlock...on the door..click..click...it does beep or the horn toots..remember trucks key is in ignition , truck running, and I'm clicking the button on the inside of the door. Finally the door will shut and hold closed , once it was not locked,,,once it was shut and locked. I had to get my other set of keys to unlock the door.

Why does rear passenger side door of 2000 Toyota Avalon occasionally not lock securely in freezing weather?

The actuator/latch is bad. Basically a spring in it is not tight enough to close it.

How can I lock a renault megane 56 plate without the key card as it is not working

Locking/Unlocking the doors from the outside
This is done using the RENAULT Card; see the "RENAULT Card" information in Section 1.
In certain cases, the RENAULT card may not work:
- if the RENAULT card battery is weak, flat, etc.
- if equipment operating on the same frequency as the card (mobile phones, etc.) is used;
- vehicle located in a high electromagnetic radiation zone.
It is then possible:
- to use the key integrated into the card to unlock the front left-hand door;
- to lock each of the doors manually;
- to use the interior door locking/unlocking control (refer to the following pages).
Using the key integrated in the RENAULT card
Insert key 1 into the lock in the driver's door and lock or unlock. Locking the doors manually
Turn screw 2 with the door open (using the end of the key) and close the door.
This means that the doors are then locked from the outside.
The doors may then only be opened from the inside or by using the key in the front left-hand door. Interior locking/unlocking door control
Switch 3 controls the doors, boot and, depending on the vehicle, the fuel filler flap simultaneously.
If a door or the tailgate is open or not closed properly, the doors and tailgate lock/unlock quickly.
If you need to transport objects with the boot open, the other opening elements can still be locked: with the engine stopped, press switch 3 for more than five seconds to lock the other opening elements.
Locking the doors without the RENAULT card
For example, in the event of a discharged battery or the RENAULT card temporarily not working, etc.
With the engine switched off and an opening element (door or boot) open, press and hold switch 3 for more than five seconds.
When the door is closed, all the doors and the tailgate will be locked.
Unlocking the vehicle from the outside is only possible with the RENAULT card in the vehicle's access zone or using the key integrated in the RENAULT card.
Door and tailgate status indicator
With the ignition on, the warning light integrated in switch 3 informs you of the locking status of the opening elements:
- indicator light on, the doors and tailgate are locked,
- indicator light off, the doors and tailgate are unlocked.
When you lock the doors, the indicator light remains lit and then goes out.

Our 2001 Mazda MPV doors are not locking. Before, we were able to lock all doors just by locking manually locking from the inside on the driver side and using the remote keyless entry. Now, when we try...

The clicking you hear is the vehicle asking for the program sequence to reprogram the locking system. Apparently something threw it out of sequence, ( a battery change , jumpstart, voltage spike , etc). The programming sequence that mazda uses is really kinda crazy. I was able to locate the sequence to try. If it does not work have the dealership flash the pcm, (another word for reprogram the powertrain control module). Here is the sequence:
1) Get in MPV with ignition key, and all fobs for the vehicle.
2) Close all doors and remove ignition key if it is in ignition.
3) Open driver's door
Note: Steps 4 and 5 must be completed in under thirty seconds.
4) Repeat the following three times
a) Insert ignition key
b)Turn ignition switch to on and then to lock
c) Remove ignition key
5) Repeat the following three times
a) Close driver's door
b) Open driver's door
Locks should all lock and then unlock within a couple of seconds--you'll hear the clicking sound
6) Press any button two times within five seconds on fob being programmed.
Locks should again lock and unlock
7) Repeat step 6 for all other fobs being programmed. When done with last fob, wait a few seconds and then you should be done with the reprogramming. Each fob should now work for this vehicle.
