Hi, I have an '04 Toyota Prado Diesel turbo, when the engine cools it wont start or won't start in the morning...seems to be a feul prob, any sugestions? tnx
Sounds like a glow plug problem,if it starts o.k. when warm, but not when cold, does it smoke a lot when trying to start it cold,if so i would say your glow plugs are either burned out or theres no power to them when you turn on the key,do you see the glow plug light on the dash,it may light, but that doesn,t mean the glow plugs are getting power
changed the glow plugs made shure they get electricity and they do but still a few seconds 10 to make it run and a lot of black smoke when starting the engine in the morning.
depending on the outside ambient air temp, does the glow plug light go out telling you its ready to start?if you try starting before this you foul the glow plugs and load up the cylinders with cold fuel(unburned)then when it fires it will burn a white to black at first to burn this off depending on the outside air temp again
