This sounds like a fuel filter problem.
You might want to find it and replace it before going to the next stage.
While the fuel pump appears to be working correctly it can not keep up with the needed gas because the filter is not completely blocked. It allows so much fuel in to the carburetor float bowls in the begining and when you first start out it is runniong on the gas stored up while also using some that slips through the filter but sooner or later the reserve is used up and then the fuel pump can't keep up supplying fuel because the filter has a blockage.
If you can locate the filter which maybe mounted on the firewall or underneith the car running along the chassis on the driver side called an inline filter. Remeove it and blow back out the opposit direction of the gas flow pointed into your hand or into a cup and check for debree. If you see a lot of debree then replace that filter. It should be good for sometime yet.
If you couldn't blow through it very easily then you may want to replace it and take the old one with you so you can compare air flow between the new one and old one by blowing through both. If they feel the same do not get the new one. If the new one feels smoother then buy it. Just tell the worker you are trying to locate the problem and want to test the two before buying it. They would rather put itback on the shelf with you standing there then you bringing it back later. I hope this helps. The Raz
