Brake pedal on my 98 chevy s10 is soft

My brake pedal on my 98 chevy s10 is soft and goes all the way to the floor. I have replaced the brakes more than a few weeks ago and all of a sudden they went soft so I bleeded them but still no luck. What else can I do?

Well I did add new brake fluid when I was bleeding brakes but it's worth a try. How should I flush the brake fluid out so that I can put fresh fluid in.

It's strange that your brakes went soft so quickly after replacing them. I bought a new Kia Optima about six months ago, and already it's having problem decelerating. I don't know what you'll do, but I'm going to take my Kia to a auto service that specializes in brake repairs. http://www.peninsuladiesel.com.au/Truck-...

Maybe your brake liquid is too old or no more good

Soft brake pedal

The booster may be bad, or the vacuum line to it (or elsewhere) has failed. Do a complete vacuum hose check, they are almost twenty years old, time for new ones. A vacuum gauge is a very handy tool to have, comes with cool tips on how to diagnose engines with it.

2005 chevy duramax 4x4 brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, ABS light on

You need to add BRAKE fluid. After that, blead your brakes. You need to find out where the brake fluid went. If there are no leaks, you need to check the remaining life on all four brake sets. If you have no leaks, chances are pretty good that you need new brakes.

2003 chevy impala brake pedal goes to floor when sitting at a complete stop

First, check your brake fluid levels, if it is low then that enplanes your problem. Also, when was the last time you had the brakes changed? if the are worn down, then this will also cause a low fluid level. if the brakes are fine and the fluid level is good and you still have the same issue, then your problem is probably your master cylinder. Brake boosters hardly ever go bad.

98 wrangler - brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. The master cylinder and all brake lines are free of leaks. I'm not losing any brake fluid anywhere. I replaced the booster that is attached to the...

You changed the master cylinder and vacuum booster and have no leaks anywhere, but did you bleed the entire brake system after you did this work? A little bit of air in any of the lines will make the brakes ineffective.

I have a 1998 chevy s10 it has a good brake pedal with the engine off but with it running the pedal go'es to the floor and you can hear air at brake booster

Check for fluid leaks and your brakes. If you see no leaks and your brakes are in good shape replace the brake master cylinder and bleed the system. The air you hear is because the pedal went to the floor. If the booster goes bad the pedal will get so hard you can hardly push it at all. I think you will find if this happened suddenly either you have a major leak or the master cylinder went bad.

94 s10 chevy 2wd brake pedal fades to floor before stoping

Might check around the big black round muffin shaped chamber adjacent to the master cylinder for a loose vacuum hose or crack therin; the hissing sound seems likely to be the air rushing in as you loose the vacuum that supplies the power to assist your braking effort (power brakes)---as this goes, so goes your peddle until it reaches the actual piston pushing the brake fluid (which should be firm like with non-power brakes).
...maybe have an assistant push on the peddle while you listen with a piece of hose or a stethescope to find the leak (or I suppose the power unit diaphragm could be shot/leaking--hence replacement), but since you said after bumpy road etc, one could hope for a simple dislodged vacuum hose or fixable crack.

My 2006 chevy HHR is having a braking problem. I replaced the brake pads. However, when I press in the brake I hear a hissing sound and suggestions

Sounds like your power booster is bad. You are hearing a vacuum leak on the booster when you push the brake. It will also be accompanied by a harder than normal pedal.
