Bring the vehicle into a repair shop ASAP. There are several things that can be wrong such as calipers master cylinder, module, fluid exhaust valves . ABS problems will affect AWD. So in all likelyhood once ABS problem is cleared AWD will be fine.

My ABS light comes on and goes off in my 2005 mariner. I sometimes notice a grinding sound and can feel the brake pedal shake when turning left or right. Only when the light is on.

check the hub/wheel bearing and your brakes the abs is part of your hub assembly and if hub damaged or failing will affect the abs system --also check the sensor and wiring sometimes debris damage the wire but with grinding and shake most probable is hub and a brake job

What could be the problem when I hear grinding in the front end mostly when turning, Abs light is on, AWD lock light periodically flashes, and advtrac will not turn on?

possible a loose front wheel bearing or a failed front wheel bearing
the abs light sensor is probably touching the rotor
tack it back to the shop that did the job as there is a problem in the assembly of the unit.

2003 mercury mountaineer brakes locking up abs light is on

Possibly has a bad wheel speed sensor or has a problem with the ABS control module and/or pump. Need to have the ABS codes pulled by a service center. Also, some auto parts stores can pull codes and may be able to pull ABS codes.

Hello i have mercury mountaineer 1999 2w 6.0 the problem is the (ABS) light turn on affter 10mph . the quetion is this is alert to change break pad or the sensor is broke?

ABS--is a Braking System, that has a Malfunction

Nothing to do with your brake pads, rotors etc.

Needs to be diagnosed and repaired ,as soon
as a few days, so as to restore proper braking

My 2003 mercury mountaineer ABS light is staying on. manually, the brakes work however they shimmy.changed the brake pads, checked the brake fluid and ABS fuse, bud when changing the pads, did now clean the...

I replaced the hub bearing assembly on drivers side twice and the light stayed on and the brakes worked fine. It was the wires (visible just above the tire on the frame) that rubbed against the frame that had shorted out. It was simply repaired and clip-stripped up out of the way. The light has been off every since then.

ABS light on a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer. How do I fix it?

Go to Autozone or Oreillys and see if they have a scanner for the ABS system. They usually scan for free.
The ABS will measure braking problems and things like worn brake linings and debris on wheel sensors.
You would want to verify the code light and then have the lining visually inspected.
There can be problems with the emergency brakes which require the rear rotors to be removed from the vehicle. Some of the rotors are a problem to remove because of rust.
