1998 chevy blazer v-6 vortec the motor isnt starting without using starting fluid. But once you start it with starting fluid it runs fine till you shut it off then it wont start. What would cause this

could be low compresion

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 1996 Chevy 5.0 Vortec gas engine?

first you have to do fuel pressure test while engine running. The fuel pressure regulator is located on side of injector box
what about cap and rotor distributor have to be change

98 chevy z71 with a 5.7 vortec misses when 1st cranked then clears up for awhile then misses speratically

check the fuel pressure. sounds like your fuel pump is getting ready to quit working

Where is my fuel pressure regulator located at on my 98 z71 chevy

If its the vortec engine everything is under the plastic intake on top of moter.they have plastic tubes under there which are called popet valves. Don't want to break them.they can make the moter black smoke and run bad if cracked.

Here is a detailed how to, its on a 2000 but it should be the same.

Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 1997 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 vortec?

it is attached to the fuel injection spider unit under the upper intake. check it out at helpwrench.com. look under the how to section for vortec there, you will see it then.

1998 Chevy cheyenne 3.5 vortec engine.going uphill it loses speed does not appear to be slipping speedometer stays steady also when you give it gas it hesitates like its flooding or not getting enough gas.

i would try to check the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump. Or try doing a tune up if needed.

had this problem on my neighbors 98 chevy truck with the same engine !!
it turnd out too be the fuel pressure regulator,you have too pull the upper intake too replace it!!

1999 chevy blazer wont start

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

It under the plastic upper intake plenum connected to the CFI assembly.

Fuel Pressure RegulatorREMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figure 1)

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Relieve fuel system pressure.
Disconnect the ignition coil.
Remove the upper intake manifold.
Disconnect the vacuum line to the regulator.
Remove the snapring from the regulator housing.
Place a towel under the regulator to absorb any spilled fuel and remove the pressure regulator from the fuel rail socket.
Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel rail.
Remove the pressure regulator O-ring filter, O-ring backup and O-ring and discard them.

To install:

Before installing the O-rings, lubricate them with clean engine oil and install them on the regulator inlet as a complete assembly.
Install the snapring retainer into the slot on the regulator housing.
Connect the vacuum line to the regulator.

Ensure that the retainer is properly seated in the slot in the regulator housing. Pull on the regulator to make sure that it is properly seated.

Connect the negative battery cable.
Turn the ignition ON for 2 seconds and then turn it OFF for 10 seconds. Again turn the ignition ON and check for leaks.
Install the manifold plenum.
