Want to know the code for my radio. It seems to be in safe mode. I just bought the car and there is no owners manual. It's a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta 2.5L engine

You will have to go to the dealer to get the code. While you are at it get the instructions for putting the code in and don't lose them. Everytime you unhook the battery you will have to put the code back in. Hope this helps.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the info. Does the dealer charge for putting the code in? "

They would probably charge you to put the code in. They do need the VIN number to get the code. The code is put in at the factory and cannot be changed. I don't know if the procedure to input the code is the same for your 2006 as it is for my 1992, that's why you would have to ask. If it's the same procedure, just post back and I can give it to you. Hope this helps.

My 2006 VW Jetta has been on SAFE 2 mode for a month. The dealership will help if you choose to pay them for their time to do the work of pulling the car stereo out to find the code on a sticker that is located on the back of the unit. The code is assigned to your vehicle and connected to your VIN number, there is no universal code. You can pull the unit out yourself (locate screws, unscrew and pull) and retrieve the code, then call the dealership with the corresponding number and they provide the code for free. It takes a 5 min conversation, service staff are hard to get a hold of, but happy to help.

My radio is in safe mode i have no manuel

The radio usually goes into safe mode when the power to the radio is interrupted. You will need to know the radio "code" in oreder to re-program the radio. The code may either be found in your owner's manual if it was written there, or by going to the VW dealer. he will need the serial number for the radio (found on the rear of the radio) and the VIN number for your car. In some years the radio code was also put on a sticker inside the trunl by the spare tire, but maybe not in 1998.

My radio says "Safe" and will not turn on

You will have to go to the Volkswagen dealer for this, they are the only ones that can give you the correct code. It will involve your car serial number too.

Radio on safety mode how do it turn it off

you will need the code. The code should be in the owners manual of the car itself or if you happen to have the seperate one for the radio. If you dont have the manuals some people will be lucky and have the code hidden under the carpet in the trunk either on the back of the door or where the spare tire is stored. Another option is to take the vin number and radio serial number to a VW dealer to have them look up the code for you. The radio serial number is in the most inconvenient location and will more than likely require you to remove the radio from the dash to see to the number.

I bought a 2002 Volkswagon Jetta and the radio is locked out. I do not have an owner's manual so I need the code to reset my radio so it will work.

You need to go to the dealer and have the radio removed and scanned to retrieve the code. Some dealers charge to retrieve this code. If you know where the car was orignally sold from (original selling dealer) you could arrive with you registration (as proof of ownership) and they may have the code on file.
