2006 Envoy hard starting, stalling when idles but runs fine at highway speeds
Clean your Throttle body and pay attention to the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve passageway to try to clean the IAC. A dirty or faulty IAC will cause your engine to stall at idle, the job of the IAC is to open the passage way through the throttle body to regulate the amount of air to enter the engine to keep it from stalling when the Envoy is at idle.
Start with the simple and clean the throttle body and inspect any loose or damaged wire leads to the throttle body. Replace or repair any signs of damage.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck.
I had the same problem and was told by several mechanics that I needed either throttle body cleaning or a new throttle body so I did it both and t he check engine and the reduce power light came on again so I took it the dealer just to find out it the actual gas pedal needed replaced cause on the gas pedal is a sensor which give you a accelerator position pedal sensor code which is the same code it give you for a throttle body put before I found that out I spent a ton of money when I should have just took it to the dealer for a part that was only $120
