First hit the bolt very hard using a wide flat punch. It may work for you. If not is needed to break up the rust or what ever is seizing the bolt in its thrteaded tapped hole.
You can do many other things to get this off
Heat it with a small propane gas cylinder untill the bolts head is red the swat the head of the bolt firmly hard. That will loosen it
Or you can leave a UV lamp on all night shining closely at the bolt, then swat that bolt in the morning

Swatting the bolt loosens up rust that is the major cause of frozen bolts

.
If these resolutions do not work at all you need to drill it out and use an easy out tool for removal

Try getting it hot with a torch. if that dont do it then you will have to do what it takes including breaking the bolt, prying off the water pump and drilling out the broken piece. a trick i use on broken bolts that stick out even a little is i weld a nut on it and back it out with a wrench. it works 99.9% of the time.

What tool should we buy to extract a frozen bolt in a water pump on a 1986 Ford Mustang GT?

did the head snap off? If so you will need to buy a Easy Out tool corresponding to the size of the bolt.
you can buy a kit to.
the right size easy out for the bolt will tell you what drill bit to use. you than drill a hole in the center of the bolt and then put the easy out in the drill and push hard while spinning the easy out in the hole you drilled with the smaller drill bit. the easy out will bite and unscrew the bolt.

They can get all the parts. They also provide haynes repair manuals, any special tools (probably not required for this vehicle) and any special disassembly instructions.

I hope this helps.

1992 Buick LeSabre - Water Pump Bolts Near Engine Mount.

I'm not sure what motor you have in that Buick, but my wife's 92 Old's water pump went out and I had a heck of a time with the bottom two bolts. I talked to a mechanic and he told me to put a piece of wood on top of a floor jack, slide it under the oil pan and lift the motor off it's mounts to gain easier access ,and after I did, with a lot of patience I got the job done.(About 2 hours, a 1/4 turn a a time) I hope this helps

Replacing water pump

Drain rad and remove hoses and fan shroud catching coolant as you go. I like the rad out so there's more room and less likely to damage it with tools. Take off belts by loosening alternator or if equipt with tension idler pulley be careful it doesn't spring at you when you loosen it. Remove fan bolts, fan and pulley. Remove pump and clean old gasket off motor. Reverse the process to reinstall. Ask for torque specs(tightening specs) when you get new pump.

NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON REPLACING ALTERNATOR ON F150 FORD LARIET 1986.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

See Figures 1 and 2

0900c1528004b8dc.jpg enlarge_icon.gifenlarge_tooltip.gif Fig. Fig. 2: Side terminal alternator
  1. Open the hood and disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the adjusting arm bolt.
  3. Remove the alternator through-bolt. Remove the drive belt from the alternator pulley and lower the alternator.

Some engines are equipped with a ribbed, K-section belt and automatic tensioner. A special tool must be made to remove the tension from the tensioner arm. Loosen the idler pulley pivot and adjuster bolts before using the tool. See the accompanying illustration for tool details.
  1. Label all of the leads to the alternator so that you can install them correctly and disconnect the leads from the alternator.
  2. Remove the alternator from the vehicle.
  3. To install, reverse the above procedure. Torque the pivot bolt to 58 ft. lbs.; the adjusting bolt to 25 ft. lbs.; the wire terminal nuts to 60-90 inch lbs.

BELT TENSION ADJUSTMENT

The fan belt drives the alternator and water pump. If the belt is too loose, it will slip and the alternator will not be able to produce it rated current. Also, the water pump will not operate efficiently and the engine could overheat.
Check the tension of the belt by pushing your thumb down on the longest span of the belt, midway between the pulleys. Belt deflection should be approximately 1 / 2 inch; (13mm).To adjust the belt tension, proceed as follows:
  1. Loosen the alternator mounting bolt and the adjusting arm bolts.
  2. Apply pressure on the alternator front housing only, moving the alternator away from the engine to tighten the belt. Do not apply pressure to the rear of the cast aluminum housing of an alternator; damage to the housing could result.
  3. Tighten the alternator mounting bolt and the adjusting arm bolts when the correct tension is reached.

1998 Ford Escort ZX2 Water Pump Housing removal

I am sure the leak is the water pump based on years of Escort work, The ZX2 is equipped with a 2.0L DOHC V-Tech engine. The water pump is on the front (rt side of car) of the engine block, visible with the hood up. NAPA autoparts replacement instructions are to loosen the belt drive pulley from the pump BEFORE removing the serpentine belt. Once the four bolts are loose, take the belt off (good time to replace?) remove bolts and old water pump (four more bolts)- it will be tight, but it comes out- clean gasket area and install new gasket and pump in reverse order. That includes putting the pulley on and hand tightening the bolts, put on the belt, finish tightening the bolts to the pulley.
