Bren2hi,

The fan fuse should be under the driver dash (or in glove compartment) in the fuse panel. Pull the cover off and flip it over. There should be a layout of the fuse panel. It should read "fan" for the fan fuse.

If you do not locate it there, open the hood and on the driver side you shoudl see a long black box. This is the fuse/relay panel. Open it, and like the fuse panel cover, flip it over and see the diagram for the fuse/relay layout and search for the "fan" relay/fuse.

It may be shared with another component. Remember, before removing any fuses or relays inside or out of the vehicle as well as any bulbs, disconnect the positive terminal from the batter, making sure it doesn't touch anything. Leaving the ground will make sure that all componenets on the vehicle are still grounded.

Upon finding the correct fuse/relay for the fan, pull the fuse/relay (relays are kinda hard to pull, so just wiggle it back and forth as you pull). Make not as to which direction the fuse/relay is facing. This is not crucial but this way you put the new one in the same way the old one was.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance or questions.

Cordially,

carsandcomps,

Just a thought: If you have two electric fans one comes on when you turn the A/C on the other does not come on till the car reaches normal operating engine coolant water temperature.

2005 cobalt put new radiator fan on still blows fuse even if the fan is not pluged in just hopeing someone had same problem with theirs

If you had a 5 amp fuse and fan draws 3 amps all is good.
BUT, if there is a short circuit before the fan, it will blow the fuse.
Check the wiring is not chaffed or worn between fuse box and fan, or switch to fan.
