SOUND LIKE VOLTAGE SPIKES.HAVE ALTERNATOR CHECKED TO SEE IF VOLTAGE GOING UP AND DOWN.DUE TO VOLTAGE REGULATOR PROBLEM.ALSO CHECK BATTERY CABLES TO SEE IF THEY ARE CLEAN AND TIGHT.
Press the AC & HEATER BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME AND HOLD THOSE BUTTONS IN FOR TEN SECONDS. Let us see if the diagnostics display comes on and check for any codes. The codes will display until it quits. It may display codes for awile if you never had this car serviced for quite some time

i had the same problem on my 96 etc,there is a ground wire behind the drivers side kick panel that was broke ,i fixed it and have not had any more trouble.

having problems with 96 eldorado. The head lights and dash lights flash on and off the analog needled will will stop working or sometimes just go crazy like in a pinball machine. And it kills a few seconds after start. This has been going on intermittently for well over a year. Is this all tied in with the theft deterrent or is this two separate issues and what has to be replaced?
