Brake lights do not come on when the brake is applied? All other lights work, head / tail lights, flashers, maker lights. I checked the fuse and there is power there and the fuse is good? Help
Let's assume you've checked the bulbs and are happy they are serviceable. Therefore you can examine the brake switch input and output (while pedal is depredded)Usually located in the pedal box area of the drivers foot well ! Good luck

When you say tailings do you mean all the lights on the back including brake/turn signals or do you mean parking lights which includes the front parking lights? People use the term tailings for either one.
Look for a bad ground...if you have a shop manual or sometimes the dealership will print you off that page, look for the major ground going to those devices.
No they are different systems going to the same place, the tail lights use one fillament in the bulb and the brake and turn signal use the other, a couple things to check, brake light fuse, brake switch (located on the brake peddle) check for power, I have also run into the 4 way flasher that were the problem, more than likely the brake switch
I would replace the fuse... and then have someone stand to the rear of the vehicle and watch the lights come on as I applied the brake... if the fuse blows again... note which tail light did NOT come on durring this test and replace the bulb.. it is grounding to itself and causing the short.
The brake light switch needs to be replaced. The brake light switch located underneath the brake pedal . Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this

Look under the dash for wires that could be shorting or touching when theyre not supposed to when you press down on the brake pedal. if so then replace the wire if damaged or move it if not. the brake pedal mechanism should not be touching or moving any wires at all.
