Yes you will need to pull the axle to get that seal out. You will need to pull tire open punkin or gear case there will be a C clip holding the axle inplace pull this out and very carefully slide the axle out the seal is in the axle housing

1995 f350 ford 2 weele drive dually rear drum removal.....do I gotta pull axle? Do I gotta replace seal?

Unfortunately you will have to remove the axles on that model of truck to access the brakes and it is necessary to replace the seals at this time because you will probably cut the old seals upon removal.I would recommend that if you are going to check them you at least need to clean and de glaze the old shoes if you don't replace them!!!! make sure to use a good quality brake cleaner.

Convert a single to a dually

Heiio, the answer to your question is you need to change your rear axle completely you can not just change your, rear axle shafts, you will need to go to a salvage yard and find a truck that is the same make/model and year as yours and after getting the different rear end jack up the rear end of your truck and unhook the drive line attached to your transmition and then take the u-bolts off and before that make sore that you have put a jack up under the frame of your truck to make sure when changing the axle, that it does not fall on you , and then proceed with chaging the axle.

Ford f350 drum brake

Don't listen to the last guy. The drum does not just slide off. You have to remove the axle by removing the eight 5/8" bolts and pulling it out. Inside the hub you will find a ratcheting lock nut. Visible will be 4 slots where a special socket fits. You can buy the socket from a parts store or you can just use a 1/4" punch and slowly hammer to slowly thread the nut off. Drivers side is left hand thread while the passenger side is right hand thread. Remove the nut and the outer bearing will fall out (so catch it before it hits the dirt). Then slide the drum off. While you inside there it is a good idea to replace the axle seal. It's about $30 and an easy change.
