Drain the exisiting tank down or run the vehicle to almost empty, disconnect the fuel line at the tank if possible while still hanging to body, if not, remove straps(this is why you want it almost empty) and gently lower the tank down and remove any remaining fuel lines you may need special fuel line disconnect tools to remove the fuel lines and possibly a repair kit to fix the very common fuel filter steel line rusting solid to the fuel filter.

Yes, your fuel pump is connected to the sending unit in the gas tank. Be careful not to stretch of break the wires connected to the harness on top of the tank. These are usually in a very tight place, and can sometimes be reached easier by supporting the tank and removing the straps, slowly drop the tank to where you can remove the harness, as well as the fuel lines. This job is usually more aggrivating than difficult. If you have never attempted this before, expect to take some time doing this! Hope this helps
