How do i replace fuel pump on 1992 tbird

If fuel injected- Central Fuel Injection, as I think it was, the electric pump should be in the gas tank. If still carbureted, it will have a mechanical fuel pump on the engine.

1. FIND OUT WHERE THE FUEL FILTER IS LOCATED....IT MAY BE INTEGRAL WITH THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TANK. IF SO, YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL THE GAS TANK UNSCREW THE HOLD DOWN RING AND REMOVE AND REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP

The fuel pump is part of the fuel sending unit. Which is located underneath the fuel tank. Purchase a Haynes Repair Manual for your year Tbird.

yes check the fuel pump PSI, then check the ESC(electronic spark control), or the crank position sensor good luck

The relay for the fuel pump might be your culprit. Check it. Mike. Rate 100% and respond back please.

Just cyckle your key on, for a few seconds until your hear the fuel pump stop, and then off, and repeat about ten times.

the fuel tank must be removed to replace the fuel pump, there is no other access to the pump.

I had this prob with my Avenger where it would keeping cranking and turning over and wouldnt start, turned out my distributor and crank sensor went out. Once i got those parts replaced, it fired right up. Also check to see if your car has an ignition module. But 9xs out of ten its usually the 1st of the 2 that i mentioned.

Warranty - 1 YR E2098S $110.99 part is avabile at auto zone use part number most shops charge min of 65.00 per hr min of 2 hrs and it is locatied in the tank

My tbird has a 3.8 v6 engine and is not turbo charged and is fuel injected. Still haven't found the problem for its getting to much fuel.
