I AM WORKING ON A 1989 CORVETTE, IT RUNS A LITTLE ROUGH AND WHEN I ACCELERATE IT SHAKES AND FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO DIE. CHANGED AIR FLOW METER. CAN IT BE THE TPS SENSOR?
I had similar problem - turns out the fuel injectors are going bad. This seems to be systematic of the new fuel.
I want to give you the right answer but the only thing i think of is the mass air flow sensor.
I found that plug wires ( even new) short ouy on hot exaust emission tube---may have to reroute wires--- check when hot in the dark-- worked for me
I have 89 corvette and i can start it fine but if i let it idle and warm up (not get hot) just warm up and shut it off it will not start unless i wait 5-10 mins. then it will start fine again. Can anybody help me with this?it also idles alittle rough. I changed the fuel relay, fuel pump, ecm, tps, new battery, plugs, fuel filter, air filter. any ideas????

where the spark plugs hook on to the disputer where it says plug 1-2 3-4 5-6 unscrew the them make sure you know the order you took them off so you can put them back on just the same way under them some times get corroded with stuff the one that has the corroded stuff you need to replace I had this happen to my corsica hope it works

Well it sounds like you've started to do your "due diligence", but there are several things left out. Your problem could be many things. Something as minor as a vacuum hose left off, loose, or in the wrong place. And just because you changed the plugs and wires, don't mean you fixed your problem. Open your hood at night and see if you have any sparks "dancing" around. Another way to check this is to open your hood and spray a soapy water solution on your plug wires and look for sparks jumping around. If so replace your wires. You didn't mention what type of wires and plugs you used. I would reccommend NKG platnum plugs and a Bosch wire. I know this from experience,(the hard way teacher). It could even be the gas you are burning. I've owned a lot of Vettes, and I am the kind of guy who believes they should be driven. If not it's like having a beatiful wife and never taking her to bed.I know a lot of people who only drive them "once in awhile". Sitting in thier garage can cause many fuel problems, condensation, sludge in the carb, or filters etc. This can all lead to the problem you are describing.
Low speed miss- usually plugs
High speed miss- usually wires or valves
intermitten miss, fuel or electrical.
I hope I gave you some places to look to find your problem.

Sounds like a clogged fuel injector.
Or worse one starting to go bad.
The problem with your car is the computer system readout is analog.
older models have a OBD-1 system and it makes finding the location of a bad injector a lot harder to find.
You could try a after market fuel additive called "sea-foam"
Most Wall-marts carry this product.
Give it a shot,I've done so myself on a VW VR-6 and talk about finicky fuel injectors!.
Worked really well for me,hope it does the same for you.
If I helped any please give me a vote.
Thanks,Gary
