Airbag/seatbelt warning light staying on in my 54 reg. ford focus zetec tdci. when i switch on the light comes on as normal. it then goes off then it flashes 4 times, pauses then flashes twice.

Most likely you have a defective rotating clock-spring flexible wire coiled contact issue. This part in under the steering wheel and therefore the wheel must be removed. The Airbag system MUST be disarmed before any work is performed.
you cannot end of story ,dealer only and if vehicle is in the EEC area then its now law that if the vehicle is 10 yrs of age then all components have to be renewed ,expensive ,what i do in cases like this is to disconnect the light and connect it to a diesel heater relay so when the car is started it will throw the light on and it goes off after 10 secs or so so the vehicle will pass the annual inspection
2009 Ford Focus Zetec, 1.8 diesal. ABS warning light,Steering Failure Assist light and Battery light all on. Can't steer car. Then takes twenty minutes to restart car. Any ideas?
with ignition turned on to 11 there are certain warning light that do stay illuminated but will go off when engine has started ie oil pressure/ charging/ m i l light /handbrake warning will go off when h/brake released so if battery is flat know anyone with jump leads?? could help you start ?
Hello, I am having the same problem, But the dealer told me that most often a water bottle goes under the seat and when people pull it out they unplug the airbag, you may want to look at this first. resetting the sensors would be next, I am looking for that next.
