You most likely have a broken wire under your steering wheel horn push housing and it's grounding itself during rotation of steering wheel , it may also be a spring broken on the horn push assy and the columb assy may be worth a peep . Good luck

SOURCE: horn wont blow

the problem is the rotating contact that connects the horn to the steering column wiring harness, this part is called the clock-spring contact, u must remove the steering wheel to change the part out.

Did you look up under front facia in front of radiator, in center support area? I wouldn't be pulling wheel until I found horn first. Make sure you disconnect battery before, if you do.

SOURCE: Horn blows when steering wheel is turned. Is is a short?

this is caused by a defective/shorted rotating ribbon contact under the steering wheel called a clock spring, to replace this part u must disarm the airbag remove it and the steering wheel and then replace the clock spring, this is a dealer only part.

SOURCE: steering wheel horn button not working 98 gulf

you need to find the wire connected to the horn of the vehicle and follow it back to through the firewall and make sure that it is connected to the horn itself. If not you will need to run another one. Also check the fuses

I had to pull relay out for horn because my horn started blowing when I turned the wheel. How do I fix the problem with the horn blowing when I turn

To fix it properly, you would need to remove the steering wheel to access the wiring for the horn. It has most likely become chafed by improper routing and is shorting out when you turn the wheel. Another, perhaps simpler fix would be to find the horn wire coming out of the bottom of the steering column. Cut it, splice a new wire to it and route it to one side of a horn button you can install on the dashboard. Run a wire from the other side of the button to chassis ground. Test the horn for operation by pressing the button. No more accidental beeping.

Could be the horn pad on the steering wheel, or a wiring problem in the column.

The horn blows some times when the steering wheel is turned

You might need to disassemble the steering wheel to access the horn button / switch there' could be something loose in there which is causing a closed circuit when the steering wheel is turned. May be solved by tightening or the horn button / switch may need replacing.

Horn blows constantly, doesn,t blow the fuse or anything else. can this problem be outside of the horn blowing assy. on the steering wheel? it,s a 2000 galant. problem occurs all the time if the switch is...

  • The horn relay might have welded contacts (stuck in the on position). Pulling the relay should stop the horn.
  • The wiring harness on the steering column might have a broken wire to the horn relay shorting to someplace that applies power to the relay. In this case, turning the steering wheel all the way to one side or the other may stop the horn, and it won't sound when you press the horn button.
  • The horn button in the steering wheel is stuck on or shorted.
