How to troubleshoot my electric drivers seat in my 2000 chevy s10 Blazer it is only adjusting part of the way up from the back it moves forward fine closer to the wheet but the it remains in a half way reclining position it makes a sluggish clicking noise when I try to get it to continue in an upright position, thank you for all your help. i'd say you need a new switch or motor, however i doubt you can find either. call around to some junkyards and see if you can find a working seat. buy it and strip the electrical parts out. put them in your seat. most likely you are going to have to remove two front and two rear bolts, unplug the wiring to lift the seat out.
the seat is mounted to either studs or bolted down, there are two in the front and two in the rear, raise the seat up as high as it goes and disconnect the wiring harness, be carefull not to break the connector, move the seat back and remove the front nuts or bolts on floor, there may be a trim cover over them, repeat for rear, move seat foreward to access rear nuts or bolts (varies by year.)
Tap on the motor while pushing the switch. if this does not work take the motor apart and clean the small brushes that contact the motor shaft 2 total they will have a copper wire attached to them good luck
The guy that posted the first solution...that works...My power seat module went bad , so I used a 12 volt batery charger on the wires to move my power seats.
