2007 Dodge Ram 2500, Took it in to the Dodge Dealership for a diagnostic this is what it said
Engine light is on and the abs and brake lights. Also the Speed odometer is not working. Diagnose only caused by found DTC B2213 for instrument cluster internal U0121 Lost Comm. With Abs Module
Cleared DTC'S U0121 Came back active. Tried to initilize abs module, But it did not correct the concern. ABS Module had Internal Failure. May have problem with instrument Cluster.
They told me to replace the ABS MODULE and than if that did not solve the problem than to replace the INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I ordered the ABS Module and replaced that first didnt change anything so I ordered the INSTRUMENT CLUSTER next and replaced that IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. So needless to say $900 later, have to fight with the Dodge dealership for a credit on parts I do not need and still have the problem and nobody knows what the **ll is wrong. HELP PLEASE! The truck has also for no apparent reason just quit on me 3 times while driving. I have had to put it in N while coasting and start it back up. It has never did this to me until after the lights came on.????
The issue started after I plugged in a new trailer to test the trailer brakes. The trailer is all rewired and working.
Well, that sucks, for sure. The only commonality I can see between the engine, abs, brake light and speedometer is possibly a bad vehicle speed sensor. But when you throw in the codes for lost comm and cluster error, that muddied the water a bit. I am sure that there are separate fuses for the trailer wiring harness (my 04 chevy has separate fuses, surely an 09 dodge does) so I doubt trailer wiring could have done all this. A lost comm could be caused by a blown fuse. I would inspect every single fuse I could find in the entire vehicle, also, I have researched your problem a bit and have found a couple possible fixes. One is that the abs sensor on the rear differential is known to be sketchy and needs to be changed. The other is cleaning any ground cables that are connected to the fuse box on the front left fender. I hope this helps!

you should have your vehicle scanned with OBDII.(on board diagnostics) . take it to a shop and tell them your engine light is on and they'll hook a computer to it and find out why

This Seems Indicative Of a Poor Connection AT The CLUSTER Or A Junction Connecter Close to the Cluster. This is Assuming you Have Ruled OUT ALL ABS COMPONENTS, LOOK at These VERY CLOSLY Because of the Small Volts These Wires Carry , the SMALLEST DEFECT WILL Cause this Type of Symptom that you have given. Please try all of the Above, I feel Confedint that athis is where your Problem Is.
