2004 chrysler sebring 3.0 stalls and will not idle. Engine lite came on and scanner said TPS low voltage on one side. I replaced TPS and it temporarily idled ok. Engine light is now off. Runs fine except...

This is where proper diagnosis comes in...as the TPS sensor voltage low because of a failed TPS sensor? Or was the TPS voltage low due to low battery voltage at the control module? Did you bother to check for the proper voltage at the TPS sensor connector before throwing parts at the problem? If the battery voltage goes low, it is NORMAL for the engine to not idle correctly. Low voltage at the control module can cause the computer to lose all of its "learned" data. It will have to "re-learn" how to idle the engine. This can sometimes take a few days. This is exactly WHY I keep telling people to not be disconnecting batteries in an attempt to "clear" computer fault codes.
If your battery has been going dead, you need to properly test and diagnose your battery and charging system. If this system is not working correctly, there is NO WAY your computer network can function correctly. - this MUST be diagnosed and repaired FIRST!

1992 Buick Park Ave. Ultra TPS problem

The code indicates the TPS is still bad and the code is usually right, but it could be a wiring issue at the TPS connector or less likely a computer issue.
To test the TPS circuit, you need to check voltage and ground from the ECM - 5v is the normal reading between the ECM reference circuit and the ECM ground circuit at the TPS connector. Checking the TPS signal circuit to the ECM requires monitoring the TPS signal on a scan tool while jumping the 5v reference and the signal circuits. The TPS reading should go from high when the circuit is jumpered to low when the jumper is removed.

2004 - JEEP LIBERTY SPORT 3.7/V6 ENGINE LIGHT ON !!! CODE #(P0122) What is it ? Can I fix it ? Dealership fix only ?

P0122 Code - Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input

A P0122 code means that the the car's computer has detected that the TPS (throttle position sensor) is reporting too low a voltage. On some vehicles that lower limit is 0.17 - 0.20 volts (V).

Did you adjust it when you installed it? If the signal value is less than .17V then the PCM sets this code. Could be an open or a short to ground in the signal circuit. Or you may have lost the 5Volt reference voltage.

Symptoms may include:
* Rough or low idle
* Stalling
* Surging
* No/little acceleration
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0122 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* TPS not mounted securely
* TPS circuit short to ground or another wire
* Faulty TPS
* Damaged computer (PCM)

Possible Solutions: Some recommended troubleshooting and repair steps are:
* Carefully check the throttle position sensor (TPS), wiring connector, and wiring for breaks, etc. Repair or replace as necessary
* Check the voltage at the TPS (refer to a service manual for your vehicle for specific information). If the voltage is too low that is indicative of a problem. Replace if necessary.
* If recently replaced the TPS may need to be adjusted. On some vehicles the installation instructions call for the TPS to be properly aligned or adjusted, consult a repair manual for specifics.
* If there are no symptoms at all, the problem may be intermittent and clearing the code may resolve the issue temporarily. If this is the case then you should definitely check the wiring to be sure it's not rubbing on anything, grounding, etc. The code may come back.

Tps voltage low?..check engine lamb is on and off when slow down or stops

Hi:
If someone has checked your check engine light code for you and told you that the cause was TPS voltage low, that is most likely telling you that your TPS, or throttle position sensor has a bad output.
Depending on the exact model of your car, you can purchase and replace just the TPS, and it should take care of your problem

Low voltage tps senser.

Not likely getting a bad TPS.Your TPS runs off a 5volt reference wire.Using multimeter with key on engine off Check to make sure you have your 5volt reference check for any deformed terminals or broken wires inside insulation.
