Need all three engine mounts for 92 mercury capri transmission support currently broken, but technician suggests to try and get all three for engine

Is it only the speedometer light or the whole "cluster" in the dash - speedometer, tach, etc...?
it could be as easy as the lamps in the cluster are burned out. If it happened over time, probably lamps.

remove oil pan and then it is a cinch. but getting the oil pan off with the engine in the car is tricky. remove all the bolts to oil pan and then the bolts to the engine mounts and transmission mount and jack engine up enough to remove oil pan

check th crankshaft position sensor

voltage to the coil should be 12 volts on start and 7.5 volts on run
with power the inverse applies --higher voltages the lower the current or the lower the volts the higher the current
recheck the installation or get an accredited auto electrician do it for you

Start with new plugs and ignition wires.
If does not help, try injector cleaner like Seafoam in the gas tank.
Beyond that it should go to the mechanic. Good luck...

Highest probability is a bad igniter in the distributor. Replace the igniter controller mounted outside the distributor at the same time...good luck...

Look for a sticker on the driver side door jam.

if your car was made up to 2/92 the starter is on the passenger side of the engine above the oil pan on side of engine block, two bolt's hold starter in place into the transmission housing.

if your car was made after 2/92 the starter is on the driver side also next to the engine block with three bolt's into the transmission housing.

could be your transmission mount is broken, when you put your engine in reverse.. with out giving it gas does the power steering work? More than likely when you are giving it gas you are apply torque to the engine and it is moving so much that you are twisting the drive axles and putting pressure on your front suspension. open the Hood and set you remergency brake and have someone put the car in reverse,,, if the engine moves significantly then that is your problem.. you will need to replace all three mounts for the engine and transmission.
