Possibility is a worn out shift tower. The tower itself has been updated through the dealer and should still be availiable. Now the mileage and condition that the transmission is in makes me worry. Remove the fluid - get a good flash light - get a very long screw driver - put the screw driver into the drain hole and force the transmission out of gear. Then remove the Transmission and replace or repair. Cheaper to replace. You bent the forks on the shift mechanism.

its kind of hard diagnosing this kind of problem like this but i could tell u what it might be. it could be your TPS sensor. shift solenoid or something wrong with the transmission valve body. i hope this helps i love those cars : )
