I have a 1996 escort and use the recommended sae 5w30 oil. I also suggest using a Ford motorcraft oil filter (Wal mart sells them at some of their stores). As for the oil brand, I like the bigger name oil like Castrol, shell and Quaker state. I don't think you need a synthetic oil.

What grade oil does the Toyota isis use? 1800cc

Most respectable oil companies these days produce application catalogues.

While vehicle manufacturers will specify a number of oil types, grades and qualities in the vehicle literature to meet various operating conditions and ambient temperatures, better oils do come along sometimes and so looking in the catalogue of your chosen brand is the best way to go...

Hi. What type of oil do I use on my Ford Econovan y.2000. The engine is FE2000

You can use a 10w-40 grade premium oil or synthetic blend oil
.....OR.....
a fully synthetic in 5w-30 grade which is better but more expensive.

When selecting the oils in either grade make sure the one you choose is approved for Ford vehicles by checking the label details. Oil companies manufacture 2 or 3 different formulations of oils in the same grades and the label (usually the back label on the pack) will indicate that the oil is formulated for the engines of specific car manufacturers.

Type oil recommended

IN my diesel trucks I used shell rimula x 20w-50and had no problems Check yourself with the MB service agents and I think that the only oils to see clear off are single grade oils as they do not have the additives necessary for long haul vehicles. An example of this is if you use a multi grade grade oil in a GM 2 stroke ( detroit) they tend to glaze up the bore as the additives prevent proper ring contact with the bore.. However regardless of the brand you will be looking for a viscosity rating for the area you operate in

How often should I change my 454's oil?

Go with the schedule oil change as listed in the hand book. Otherwise 10.000 klm or 6 months . Change at 5000klm if difficult conditions. Type of oil Conditions dictate if you use a multi grade 10/15w- 20/30/40/50 grade oil Again check the hand book Mineral oil will do just a good a job as the more expensive synthentic types As to brands that is you choice.

On the Oil cap of the 6 cyl. engine, it says 5-40 SH II. What does the SH II stand for and what would be the recommended oil weight for an engine of that age with 124,500 miles on it. Is any particular...

Normally this would be a grade of oil but I don't recall them using anything that thin in Camry's in the US. That maybe an Asian type of oil. In most cases in the US they used a 5W20 grade of oil. If you picked this vehicle up in Asia somewhere I do not recommend adding oil to it until you do a complete oil change so you don't mix them.

How often do you change the motor oil? The motor oil filter? The automatic transmission oil and filter? What type of motor oil should be used?

Oil change recommended is every 3,000miles / 5000km for local short running around. If you clock up the miles quickly then extend the oil changes to 6,000miles /10,000km
Oil filter is every second oil change.
Use reputable multi grade oil 15W/40 or similar, Do not use standard SAE 30 single grade oil. You do not need to use synthetic / semi-synthetic oils either.

Oil type for 2006 dodge grand caravan

New cars and truck manufactures recomend differend types of grades of oil when the engine is new. What they don't tell you when the engine receives 30,000 miles on it the grade of oil can be changed for better lubrication. Use 10w30 for normal use upon changing oil.

No .. the SE and SF grades are obsolete .. The use of 5W verses 10W is that the 5W is lighter viscosity oil

Use 5w30 oil in this car, preferably a synthetic. The manufacturer recommends this grade of oil and it needs to be changed every 3000 miles.
