My clock and radio are suddenly not working in my 2003 grand am

My clock and radio are suddenly not working in my 2003 pontiac grand am. could it be the engine compartment fuse? My daughter claims the
battery went dead when she had the car last night and needed to be jumped. She says the person that jumped it first put the cables on the wrong terminals - would this cause the fuse in the engine compartment to blow?

Your Vehicle has two fuse boxes one fuse box under the hood and one inside the vehicle. Check your owner’s manual and you should find the fuse panel at the side of driver’s dash console. Look at the fuse schematics for the fuse description radio then remove that fuse for a visual inspection. If it is good it could be an internal radio problem. However, If the battery jumper cables were hooked up incorrectly it may have damaged a battery cell or the regulator of the alternator and I would have her take it to NAPA, O’Reilly, or Auto Zone to have a free battery and charging system test.

I have a 2003 pontiac grand am the clock radio and radio have no display lite. How do i change the bulb cani do this myself

First make sure that is the only interior lighting that is not working. If there is anything else not working properly check the fuses. If that is the only light not functioning than I recommend replacing the radio; or take it to someone who is really good with electronics, because replacing the bulb yourself may be very frustrating with someone with no electronic experience!!

My clock radio light does not light up all the way

I'm guessing your dimmer switch is turned up, but part of your display is partially lit, the problem is internal to the radio and the radio would have to be replaced. This is common.

The clock display is not lit

This is a VERY common problem with these radios. The only solution is to replace the radio with a new one or used and then wait for it to screw up.

Dash board clock will not light up any more.

I had the same problem on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I sent my radio out for repair of illumination. You can find online places that will provide shipping labels for sending the radio in and returning it back to you.

Clock light burned out

You will need to pull the clock, the bulb is on the back, any parts store will carry it, it is a mini peanut bulb.

Car radio clock

YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE MINIATURE BULB THAT LITES UP THE DISPLAY, YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE RADIO FROM THE CAR AND THEN REMOVE THE TOP SHEET METAL COVER ON THE RADIO, YOU WILL SEE THE BULB SOCKET PLUGGED INTO THE BACK OF THE DISPLAY.
