You only need to set timing on the engine NOT the gearbox.

2005 chevy impala.. transmission slipping or something. this car has about 193,000 miles on it.. im wondering why its slipping (transmission) and if its even worth fixing...???

HI,
First, verify the transmission fluid level is correct - look in the Owner's Manual for info. 2nd get a transmission fluid replacement - do NOT do a 'chemical flush' it could make it even worse....just have them drain out ALL the old fluid and put in new fluid. Shouldn't cost more than $100. If you have any Check Engine Lights or other unusual lights on, get those checked out, too.

Per KBB.com car is worth about $2500 if you sell it yourself; dealer might give your $1500 but only $500 w/a bad transmission. A rebuilt transmission would likely cost $2000....do NOT fix it. 193K miles is a lot on any car especially an Impala. Time a for another car.

If you have no check engine light on, than change the filter and if that dont do it, your transmission is bad

I have a 2000 chevy impala my heat doesn't work,

first it to verify the coolant flow. I suspect the heater core isn't flowing, you may need to take a garden hose and take both heater hoses off, and flush in both directions to clean the heater core. flush in both directions until you get clean water flow. I am assuming the coolant level is OK, and the water pump is pumping and the engine is getting warm enough.

It sounds like you might need to replace your motor mounts, or get a tier allignement done. The allignment you cannot do yourself but the motor mounts you can this requires you to place a jack under you engine and undoing the motor mounts then replace them and take away jack.

2000 chevy impala, air conditioning does not work

It sounds like the blower resistor needs to be replaced and the blower motor it self. Auto Zone will have the blower and resistor that you need to replace and will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools and will take about 2 hours if your good with tools. Good luck and keep me posted. Setting 5 should have 12 volts running to the blower motor so check the wire harness for voltage readings at the blower motor harness clip, you may only just need a new blower motor.
