1999 Ford F250 driving down the road loud pop in dash smoke coming from radio...radio doesn't work and neither do turn signals. Fuse?

Well, the radio and the TS do not use the same fuse. Have you checked the fuse panel under the steering column to see if any fuses are open? Is the radio the original or is it aftermarket?

Ford f250 1985 brake lights will not work and i am getting power out of the switch but not to the back 4 pin plug or to the brake lights. could the problem be in the stearing column?

Wire is probably broke somewhere in the harness start form the pedal and sort through them there shouldnt be any issue between the steering column and the brake lights

I have a Ford F250, 2002 super duty v-10. My battery died and I tried jumping it but the alarm sounded. (I never received the push button entry thing). I bought this truck used and need to know how to...

Depending on the alarm system, there may be a valet button under the dash on the driver's side near the stearing column. You will need to put your key in the ignition, turn the key to the on position and then press the button in.

First had aircondition serviced.after that the instrument fuse keeps blowing.fuse will stay working but when truck is switched on and off, thats when it will blow.Dont know if the servicen of the...

I have seen multiple trucks with similar fuse blowing problem and have found most are caused by a shorted out overdrive switch or wiring inside the steering column. Usually this is triggered by moving the shifter or something on the column though usually the shifter since thats where the overdrive switch is mounted. If the wiring is the problem after the connector in the column then you have to replace the entire shift lever since the wiring for the overdrive switch is integral to the shift lever.

2003 ford f250 super duty 7.3ltr I switch it from 4 wheel drive back to 2 wheel and it blows number 45 fuse. Also sometimes when i go from park to reverse it blows the same fuse.

Hi,
The wiring from your overdrive cancel (or tow/haul) switch is shorting in your steering column. Remove the plastic trim from around the steering column. From above the steering column look in the area where the gear shift meets the column. You will see a pair of wires (twisted) wrapped in a black tube. Examine these wires really closely and I am sure you will find an area where they have rubbed thru. Wrap a little electrical tape tightly around the area and you are good to go. To get the top plastic piece off of the column you may need to remove the ignition key cylinder. turn the key to the run position. Under the cylinder on the column is a small hole. Push a pick into the hole while you wiggle and pull outward on the key cylinder. The cylinder should pull out and allow you to remove the plastic trim. The cylinder must be in the run position when you reinstall it too.
I hope I was descriptive enough. I hope this helps you out!

Someone broke in my 2002 ford explorer and try to hot wire the car. he fail but left me with a mess. the steering column is broken wire is cut. i want to fix this on my own because anywhere i ask to fix it...

get a doner stearing column from nearest salvage,(thats what i would try). youll prolly have to buy a new key tumbler assembly and program the key to the computer anti theft sytem.
to program the new key, assuming all goes well with the new column and the new key tumbler, put the new key in ignition, turn key on for 15min, time it with a watch. after 15 min turn key off.
wait 15 more minutes. time that,
now after the 15 minutes u should b able to turn key on and start the vehicle.
the key tumbler/key switch kit should come with those instructions.
also if u buy a doner stearing shaft, i like when they let me pull it, lock the stearing wheel w/key so it doesnt turn.
there is a sensor called the "CLOCK SPRING," if u turn the wheel to far around while disconecting the stearing shaft at the bottom of column, u ruin this sensor and end up with a airbag lite on.
so b careful not to rotate the wheel more than two times in one direction the sensor is about 119 bucks u dont have to remove the stearing wheel to swap the column assemblys

1991 ford 250 horn doesn't work can't figure out

First, hook a test light to the power wire on the horn, push the horn button, and see if you have power there. If you have power, the problem is the horn itself. Maybe even run a jumper wire to the horn, and see if it will blow. Sometimes with these older trucks, it just as easy to change the whole steering column as it is to find the problem. (if you can get a column from an auto wrecker cheap) It will likely be a broken wire in the column somewhere, ususally near where it tilts.

Instrument cluster not working and truck wont go

I had the same issue with my 2002 F250 7.3 L. The overdrive switch was shorting the circuit due to exposed wires in the steering colum. I replaced the switch and resolved the problem.
