Car stalled and had to have it jumped. Turns out

Car stalled and had to have it jumped. Turns out there was something with the positive electrical whatever with the battery. It is fixed and that is okay. Except my stereo won't play. It works - but all I get is a buzzing sound....? Any suggestions?

It also happened when we had an aftermarket radio in it - we changed it to the factory radio hoping it would fix it - but it didn't. Would your solution still apply?

The "positive electrical whatever" you mentioned is probably the positive battery terminal. does the car have an amplified stereo system? if so, there is most likely a broken wire at the positive terminal, preventing the amplifier from powering up and playing the music.

Corrosion around the positive anode of the battery. Truck will not start, but battery is not dead. Jumped it with my other car. Drove it about 10 miles - herky-jerky for the first three, like it was...

Likely these problems were being caused by your electrical system being abused. You MUST pull the cables off your battery and clean both the battery and cables to shiny clean. Add a touch of vaseline to all parts and hook it all back up.

2005 hyndia accent check engine light came on,1 day later car stalled and would not start. code p0340 cam shaft sensor replaced it still wont start gets spark fuel pump turns on any thoughts or suggestions...

Check that the timing has not jumped, incorrect timing will trigger a cam sensor code as the ecu can not work out the correct position of the cam.

Car keeps needing to be jumped because of dead battery, I have replaced battery and it still needs to be jumped

Check for a drain by putting an inductive ammeter probe around the positive or negative wire on the battery.

If there is more than .2 Amps of draw when the car is not on, then you have too much of a drain caused by something in the car's electrical system.

Take the car to an auto electric shop to try to find the short or source of the drain.

Stalls won't start even wtih jump

just a few easy things to check! if your battery is more then 3 yrs old,its a good idea to replace it, even if this is not the cure, but it sounds to me it is a good possibility, had the same problem with my car! see you don't want to jump start it through the battery in your car! the way to buy pass a bad battery is to connect the positive cable from the good battery to the positive post on the car being jumped, connect the negative cable to the frame of the car being jumped,NOT TO THE BATTERY.also, when u get it running take it right to a place that can check your alternator to make sure its o.k. their are some auto part stores that will do that for free and u could get the battery from them if needed.good luck to u,hope we helped!
