My man I know your pain... I have the exact same problem happening to me now... same make, year and model... I called a mechanic buddy of mine and he said I might have a "flat point" on my starter and if so this might happen intermittently... he suggested a replacement of the starter... But I think the other suggestion is also quite valid so I going to have my friend do both...
mpesca3115, did you ever find the cause of this? my jeep is doing the exact same thing....
Me too first time was bad starter wire connection, it was rusted. That worked almost for a year, this time bad Ignition Switch. Same exact issue's you are all having. Jeep seems great so far no issues, it had just hit 88,000 when it did it this time. The part is 40 bucks and looks quite easy to change out-they did charge me 200.00 in labor tho. I would change it myself or someone a little handy can change it very easily-and keep that labor cost cash in ur pocket!!
SOURCE: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't CRANK - battery is fine.
What is the current status? I purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from CarMax in December, 2009. The first time it wouldn't start was the beginning of March. The dealership could not duplicate the issue. Happened again a month later, they said it was the wireless remote module and that was replaced. Couple months later, happened again. They said it was the key module. That was replaced. Friday night, happened again. I'm waiting for a tow truck Monday morning. Does anyone know the real underlying issue and the resolution?

U need the dealer to run a full fault code test on the CTM controller.
