I havent ever had this problem but i'm familiar with the eos so i can say almost undoubtedly that the you have a bad trunk latch. there is a switch in the trunk latch that tells it if it's closed or open and i'm guessing that the switch is bad. once the switch tells the car that the trunk is closed, it runs the motor that close the trunk fully.

however, i say again that i've never had this problem on an eos so there is a fair amount of room for other issues. volkswagens are rather complicate and use a lot of different switches and such in the convertible top. also, the only way to know for sure is to bring your vehicle to the vw dealer becuase only the vw 5051 scan tool is capable of reading the inputs and outputs of the convertible top control module and this is what is required to properly diagnose the problem. don't waste your time throwing parts at it, the dealer should be able to give you a 100% positive diagnosis with one hours labor (about $90)

Trunk/ top/ lock alarms not working in my 2007 VW Eos

It sounds very much like there's an electrical problem with the trunk, top, and lock on your 2007 VW Eos. The following advice may be used to identify the issue and maybe resolve it:

1. Examine the fuses: Start by looking for any blown fuses connected to the lock system, top, or trunk in the fuse box. A schematic indicating which fuses are in charge of these operations should be included in the owner's manual. If any fuses break, replace them with the appropriate amperage-rated fuses.
2. Examine the microswitch and trunk latch: There is a chance that the microswitch, which determines whether the trunk is closed, is broken or the latch itself is defective. If the interior light turns on, that means the switch is functioning. Try physically pushing down on the trunk lid. If not, you may need to have the microswitch or trunk latch replaced.
3. Test the key fob: If you have a spare key fob, use it to see if the issue still exists even after you changed the battery. This may disqualify the key fob as the actual culprit.
4. Inspect the convenience module: This electrical brain regulates and operates lighting, windows, locks, and other devices. Should something be broken, it might be the root of your problems. Regretfully, identifying and fixing the convenience module can be difficult and necessitate expert assistance.
5. Speak with a professional: It's recommended to get advice from a trained mechanic who is experienced with the electrical systems of VW EOS if none of the aforementioned solutions work. With the use of specialist tools and equipment, they are able to identify the precise issue and suggest the best course of action for repair.

Extra advice

Make sure your automobile is parked securely and in a well-lit place before attempting these tips.
Do not hesitate to seek professional assistance if you are uncomfortable performing repairs on your car's electrical system yourself.

Think about looking for online communities or forums dedicated to VW Eos owners. You may be able to locate individuals who have gone through similar struggles and can provide insightful guidance.

My 2007 vw eos drivers window won.t close, all others works fine

Could be the master switch because the drivers window is mostly used, or the window motor/regulator. same reason. Easy to check with a volt/ohm meter. You'll need wiring/pin outs for electrical.

My 2001 325ci convertable bmw has the trunk light on. With it on, the electric roof will not work. Is there power going to the trunk latch. If so, which wire has the power. Is there a way to bypass...

The system is designed so that with the trunk open it will not open the roof. If the trunk is fully closed and the trunk light is still on, then find the switch in the boot which operates the light. If you disconnect any wires you could disable the boot completely. Including security.

How do you put the top down. I have a rental, and their is no owner's guide.

1.Empty the trunk of all contents
2.Park on a level surface and set parking brake, shift auto trans into Park or manual into R
3.Turn the ignition off.
4.Open the trunk.
5.Pull down the convertible top latch located above the rearview mirror and turn it counterclockwise to unlatch . Leave the latch open and turned to prevent damage.
6.Pull rearward on the side edge of the convertible top and pull it off of
the windshield frame.
7.Push the convertible top down into the trunk
8.After the top is stored, push on the convertible top to ensure that the top is fully retracted and securely stored.
9.Close thet runk by pressing down from the rear center of it with a swift, firm motion.

Power rooftop only lock and unlocks and does not open or close by the switch

check the partition in the trunk to make sure it is fully in the down position. if the light on the switch is orange then the microswitch is not depressed. if the light is red and the top still wont open then you have a bad pump due to water ingress from clogged up body cavity drains. this is an expensive repair.

Trunk, backend of car stuck in up position

My 2007 EOS stops with the truck up in the air, going up or down, when the temperature is very hot. The manual says if the hydraulic fluid gets too hot, you must wait for it to cool. I find this unsatisfactory as I live in a very hot state. I had it in the shop several times, then found this in the manual, and took it in again last week; the service manager at the dealer says he has seen reports of this, but there is not solution that he knows of. I am contracting the National Headquarters this week, and then an attorney if they do not remedy it as I only have a few more months of warranty to work with them....hope this helps.
