I cannot locate the child locks on my 00 Ford Focus car

The child lock is a lever alongside the door lock on the rear doors.

make sure that the child lock has not been moved first
small lever at the edge of the door that is moved to lock the door after children are in the car

Your latch may be stuck in the latched position. Try pulling on the handle as to open the door while lifting the latch arm.

I don't have this vehicle, but a quick web search indicates one of two ways to accomplish this task. Most sedans, SUVs, and such these days have child safety locks on the rear doors. Almost always, this switch is located on the rear face of door (the area that can't be seen when the door is closed). The general way to lock / unlock is to open the rear door and push a switch to the appropriate icon (either an open or closed padlock). The other way that I found, specific to the Focus, is to use your ignition key instead of a switch. Take your key to the back door, open it, and look for a keyslot that is in the area of the icons. My research indicates that the key vertical is locked and the key turned horizontal is unlocked.

open up the door the door jam will have a thin pice of mettle about 1/4 long comming out of the door there shoud be a sticker next to eat that states child safty lock- locked-unloced........this will be on the inside doorjam about the same highth as the door handel

u might kept child lock on ,dis can b found sode of the door where locking module houses

on the back doors you will see that there is a small whole just below the lock put your ignition key in it and turn this switch's the child lock on

if it is 4 door, check the rear door on the door jam and the doors itself. there should be a little switch you can manually flick either way.

on the door there is a little lever near the spot where the post meets the door.it is marked .

I had the same problem until I found there`s a hole in the latch of the door for you to get the tip of your key in. Turn that and the child locks will come off.
