You have 4 wheel speed sensors. There is one at each wheel located just behind the hub. You can trace it by loacting the black insulated wire leading out from the wheel well and going behind the wheel.

Abs light came on

Sometimes this light is a small illuminated picture of a car losing control. How this system works: Traction control uses wheel speed sensors to detect when one or more of the car's wheels lose grip and traction. When the system registers a loss of traction in one or more of the wheels, a computer will limit power to the wheels that are still in solid contact with the road to prevent a skid. Common reasons for this to happen:
  • ABS is malfunctioning: Traction control and ABS (anti-lock braking system) often share the same control module and internal self-diagnostics system. As a result, sometimes an issue in the ABS can trigger the traction control light. If this is the case, then both the ABS and Traction Control lights will be on.
  • Broken wheel speed sensors: Wheel speed sensors are usually in the wheel bearing assembly, and determine the rate at which each wheel is moving. The sensors relay that information to the traction control module, which determines whether or not power needs to be shifted. Wheel speed sensors can get dirty or damaged and stop working, which prohibits the traction control module from knowing when to enable the system.Traction control module is faulty: The traction control module - which, again, is often shared with the ABS - can malfunction and break altogether, causing the system to stop working. What to expect: A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the source and cause of the traction control issue, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs. How important is this service? It's important to have the traction control issue investigated as soon as possible, as adverse driving conditions can arise at any time. While your car is unlikely to incur further damage from a faulty traction control system, it won't be safe to drive in rain, snow, sleet, or other inclement weather, or even possibly through pools of water on the road. Furthermore, the issue that is causing the traction control light to illuminate could also be impacting the ABS.

What causes the stability light abs licht traction light al come on and speedo drops out? Could the abs module be faulty?

one of your wheel speed sensors is bad. If the speedo drops out I think it is the left rear wheel speed sensor. Check that before getting into the ABS module....

2003 cts, i took it for a safety and they did not disable traction control, when putting the vehicle on the hoist, now the traction control and abs lights come on randomly, but turn off when i restart the...

well while putting the car on the lift, traction control does not need to be disabled, and will not cause the abs/traction light to illuminate, these cars are known to have terrible wheel speed sensors that are brittle and tend to brake or malfunction for no apperent reason, and the wheel speed sensors are what control your abs and traction conrol units and they are normally what make the light come on on your dash, the warranty on the sensors was prolonged for that reason, so depending on the mileage of your car they might be covered, hope this helps

Dsc warning light on , bmw e46

Dynamic Stability Control....a derivitave of ABS / Traction control. The control unit that monitors the dynamics will most likely be sensing a difference in the measured wheel speeds. Possibly defective ABS sensor, wiring, ABS exciter ring, ABS module or steering angle sensor. Can also be triggered by wheel spin.
Have a diagnostic scan done ( cost £30 - £50 approx at good local garage) to read the fault codes first. If you get a fault code relating to "ABS module pressure sensor" the module requires replacement (common issue). Used to be a £1400 job, but repair kit now available from dealer for £180 ish and 2 hours to fit.

My 3001 325I got stuck in ie, parked at the airport for a week. Spinning the tires caused the traction control light and BRAKE like to come on. Can this be re-set?

If this fault was from just the wheels spinning it would go out after all four wheel speed sensors were seen by the abs/dsc module. So by driving and cycling the key the light should go out, if not there is a problem.

Abs light on and the speedometer stop working on bmw 5 series year 2000 and also the tracksion cotrol systen is on as well

Sorry I don't know much about BMW but I do know about cars and it sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor or more than one which controls those systems. If the car does not get a signal of how fast the wheel is spinning it will make the traction control not work along with the ABS.

Speedo suddenly not working and two warning lights appeared on dashboard one being ABS light warning light.

If the ABS (and likely the traction control) light came on at the same time that the speedometer stopped working, you likely have a faulty wheel speed sensor at the right rear wheel. You can test this by swapping the two rear wheel speed sensors (ABS sensors). If the speedometer then works (but the ABS & Traction control lights stay on), replace the sensor that is now at the left rear (was at the right rear). If no change, you may have a fault in the ABS & Traction control - control unit.
