check the fluid condition/ex. full level/rose pink/red color is good if it's brown it's burning this could be from slipping/ improper cooling from hot running engine(the tranny lines go through the radiator)broken vacuum line/pressure loss dirty electrical connectors/blown switches inside the tranny/or the tranny is completely shot==this all depends on what you find if your engine has been running rough for a while your loosing vacuum inches and proper voltage and this will contribute to ruining a transmission in a short time also high heat /hot running engine == old transmission===I'm fried out === junk yard transmission=$$and a lot of work / rebuilt transmission===$$$$$ and other repairs as needed to not burn the new one out in 6 months or less good luck

So what do you have for voltage at the battery? Sounds like the alternator went bad. There should be around 14 volts at the battery with the engine running. Anything less and the alternator would be the first thing I suspected.

try driving with overdrive off and see what it does. This is CD4E trans, 2-4 band fails.

A system fluid flush is only temporary fix and wont last long. The short of it is you need the transmission rebuilt.

you may have a sticky valve in the transmission try adding lucas transmission stop slip

you may need to use a high octane gas to clean your injectors and replace the inline gas filter as this should cure the problem. On the wiper blades that is more than likeley the relay switch that is connected to them it should be located near the firewall on the driverside.
