Most likely a wheel sensor concern

if the computer cannot see the wheel speed then you lose ABS and TRACTION control

go to almost any part store and have them pull codes
assuming you have a VSS code, replace the suspected part or continue diagnoses for possible wiring concern

ABS & traction control just went out on 2008 Ford Escape.

Chances are it is a bad ABS sensor. Need to get scanned to know for sure and which one.
Not much i know but I hope that helps.

My abs light stays on on my ford focus

when the ABS light stays on it means there is a fault present in the ABS system and the ABS has been disabled, as long as the light is on u just have regular brakes with no ABS, there are many thinbgs that can turn the light on, most common is one of the wheel speed sensors is defective, since these sensors are about $75-100 each and there are 4 of them guessing is a poor idea, so what u need to do is have the ABS systwem tested, there will be a fault code present to help narrow down the defective part or wiring.

Abs and traction control light stays on

Cheapest option would be to have the fault code read by a dealer or specialist. Its likely to be a wheel speed sensor but its finding which one that's the problem. You could disconnect each one and take an ohms reading across the connections. They should all be the same or there abouts. Change the one thats not. If your lucky the light may extinguish. If not the fault will need to be cleared using diagnostic equipment.

Warning lights

You need to have your brakes inspected by a professional. The lights indicate that ABS and traction control are not working...although brakes will work without these features, a humming noise can indicate more problems to come.
