Procedures for removing drive shaft bmw x5

Hello, I am replacing both front drive shafts on a 2001 BMW x5. Does anybody have any intruction on removing the drive shaft from the transmission? And do I have to remove the whole spindal for this procedure

No the spindle stays on the vehicle,this process is not that difficult.start by removing the wheels and 38mm nut at the end of each shaft,then reomve the bolt holding on the front lower control arm from the front sub frame,pressout the shaft through the wheel bearing,now that the end of the shaft is out use a pry bar to pop out the shaft in the oil pan,pull them out and replace, Also you must be aware that removeing the 38mm nut is difficult without a impact gun and it is also a 12 point nut as well you must force out the ends of the drive shaft with a special puller of a air chistle with a point as you are not able to push it through by hand good luck

REMOVE FRONT WHEEL/.REMOVE THE REINFORCEMENT PLATE / REMOVE FRONT SPLASH GUARD / REMOVE ABS PULSE GENERATOR / REMOVE BRAKE CALIPER FROM DISC AND TIE OUT OF THE WAY WITH THE HOSE STILL CONNECTED / REMOVE STEERING GEAR TIE ROD FROM SWIVEL BEARING / REMOVE THE TENSION STRUT WITH GUIDE JOINT FROM SWIVEL BEARING / REMOVE THE CONTROL ARM FROM SWIVEL BEARING / REMOVE THE COLLAR NUT ON HALFSHAFT PRESS HALFSHAFT OUT OF DRIVE FLANGE / REMOVE THE HALFSHAFT.BESURE TO REPLACE THE SNAP RING ON THE HALFSHAFT.WHEN INSTALLING HALFSHAFT BESURE TO PUSH IN OUTPUT SHAFT OVER THE RESISTANCE OF THE THE RETAINING RING UNTIL IT SNAPS IN PLACE.WHEN JOB FINISHED CHECK THE FRONT AXLE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID LEVEL.

Sorry this is not a solution, but my 1999 BMW 328i also has a problem on this area. My left signal keeps blinking even though I have the lever in neutral. Can somebody tell me what the problem might be? thanks.
