My 98 volvo s70 won't start right away when it's colder than 50 degrees outside. It takes a few tries and I have to wait a couple of minutes between tries.

I replace timing tensioner and now car will not start, whats wrong why will it not crank 2000 s70 volvo

Check to make sure the car is in time. I have found with my 98 Volvo V70 that if the timing is off just a couple of teeth the car will crank but not come to a full start.

1999 s70 volvo driver door won't open from outside or inside

I am working on this RIGHT NOW. Remove panel (see Utube) remove white cover (Torx 25) from interior of exterior handle. You will see that lifting the handle pushes a rod down The rod is attached to the bottom half of the mechanism via a cheapo plastic connection, that can work loose. It is like a screw shaft (top) that squeezes (sideways) into a blue plastic channel which merely pinches the "screw shaft" to hold it. The connection has come loose. Squeeze upper shaft into (lower) blue channel. Added tiny bit of epoxy to bond "screw shaft" onto blue plastic gripper. Done. Saved $500.

I have a 1999 volvo s70 non-turbo 2.4 5 cyl. I bought it 1 year ago with 124k. It runs great, but the a/c cuts off when it gets over 90 degrees. At freeway speeds, it stays on (until it gets around 100...

There have been a lot of problems with the compressor cutting out when it gets hot. When the A/C begins to blow warm, check the power supply wire to the compressor. If there is power in the wire, you will most likely have to replace the compressor. If there is no power, you will have to trace it back to see what the problem is (a wiring diagram will help greatly).

Radio code ( 98 Volvo S70)

Look in the manual for the code - usually someone has written it in there. If not, call the nearest Volvo dealership and give them the VIN - they can tell you what your code is. Then, with the engine off, turn the key to the "I" position (Roman numeral one) and leave it for at least 4 hours. The radio should then read "Code. and you can enter the 4 digit number! Good Luck!

1998 Volvo S70 won't start when cold!

Check the B+ cable. If you remove the fuse box cover in the engine compartment (on the drivers side), and you'll see a post with a nut on it, securing a group of red wires. The connector should be a clean copper color. If you take it to a shop, have them perform a voltage drop test on the cable. If it is corroded or burnt, replace that cable!
