You either have a bad meter or a bad ground to the meter if you have full battery voltage at the meter location.

Check with a volt meter if u have 12 volt at the big lead on the back of the alternator engine off

if thats good start engine check to see if alternator is charging check the battery a good alterntor charges 13.5 - 14 volts, u may have a bunk alternator

1994 Olds 3.1 engine cylinoild clicks but won't start

Sounds like battery terminal corrosion. Try cleaning the terminals and cable ends with baking soda and water and an old toothbrush, then add some dielectric grease and put the cables back on. If that doesn't help- check for bad battery cables: https://getjerry.com/questions/how-do-i-test-if-my-battery-cables-are-bad
If that all checks out, then your N.E.W (Never Ever Works) starter is very likely defective. Your alternator looks good and 12.6 volts on a new battery is just fine.

I have low volts put in battery had altenator tested 8 volts on the gauge battery light flashing 1993 corvette lt1

check the voltage regulator for faults
alternator running at 1500rpm has to put out a dc voltage of 14.5-14.8 volts
have the battery load tested a sit should maintain a voltage of no less than 10.5 under load conditions anything lower indicates bad cells in the battery

I PUT NEW BATTERY AND ALT IN STILL THE BATTERY GOES DEAD

you need to check and see with a volt meter if the alt is putting out anything if not make sure the wires in the back of the alt. have voltage coming from the fuse box you could have a problem as simple as a blown fuse

I just put a new battery in my car and got the alternator checked but my battery is still getting drained, whats going on

Do you mean the battery is draining overnight, and needs jump started? On your Olds, if this is the case...the starter has to be draining the battery...most likely a short...is it the original starter? Changing the starter on your Olds is not a big deal...:) Nice Car, if your Cutlass has gauges...(including Volts/Battery) the signal should show...toward charge when driving...The starter short is hard to confirm.

Battery light on volt gauge is ok new altenator and battery

It is the two or three wire connector on the top side of the alternator. Either a wire has broke before the plug or there is a problem with the plugs terminals. The dealer sells a repair pig-tail if you need it.
