Head torque specs on a s type jaguar with a 4.0 v8

Cadillac is the make.
V8 is the engine configuration.
1.9 litre is the cubic capacity.

Nnone of that is 'year make model' as needed. With torque specs, the engine has an alpha numerical number and that is useful as well. Like this; Torque Specifications for. GM 4.9L-301ci-V8

i would advise new bolts the torque settinngs are. main bolts ,
1st. 10nm 2nd 20nm 3rd 35nm 4th 90 degrees 5th a further 90 degrees, the 4 small bolts at front off heads 23-27 nm

Fig. Cylinder head torque sequence-4.5L and 4.9L engines (not Nothstar, this is 4.6L)

1. Tighten cylinder head bolts, in sequence, to 38 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
2. Tighten cylinder head bolts, in sequence, to 68 ft. lbs. (90 Nm).
3. Tighten No. 1, 3 and 4 cylinder head bolts to 90 ft. lbs. (120 Nm).

Remember the head bolts are not reusable. They are stretched, not torqued. I can't post illustrations here but the pattern can be found at LR’s service website, www.landrovertechinfo.com (you can register for free). The bolts are tightened to a light torque of 15 foot pounds, then turned through two angles of 90 degrees each.

Jaguar runs there cylinder numbering different then the north american engines. They go from 1-2-3-4- front to back and bank 1 and bank 2. Bank one is on the passenger side and bank 2 is on the drivers side. This is the s type DOHC V8 (AJ28) engine for your car.

Step 1 torque to 59 ft pounds
2. Loosen one full turn
3. 37 ft pounds
4. 68 ft pounds
